Re: Idea - the international guinea pig adventure?

I'm hugely sorry I can't get him to you in time Laura - I am totally swamped with placement work at the moment. Alternatively I could send him to you tomorrow and sort out the list from there? As long as you're happy to send him back to England to bromers/Piglet. Hopefully I will have time as of this weekend - the last week or so has been a bit crazy for me. Will aim to update the list soon, too.

Remember that this is only open to Cavy Slaves and above - we can really only send him to established members.

Re: Idea - the international guinea pig adventure?

I'm happy with whatever you're happy with. It's up to you. You're the person with him so it's up to you where he goes first. I have no problem sending him anywhere - I have a post office round the corner so it wouldn't take two minutes to send him wherever he needs to go after his stay.
I just thought with my Charlie being 3 years old, CC-Charlie could feature in Charlie-Parsley's special birthday photo shoot. We could call it CC-Charlie's first birthday party! Don't put yourself out just to get him sent here in time though - I'm sure my Charlie won't mind having another special birthday dinner and posing with his presents. In fact, Charlie-Parsley would be delighted to have another birthday lunch! He has two scheduled already - a joint one with Jasmine both tomorrow and Saturday. Although he might end up a bit chubby if he has a third helping of sweet potato. (As will Jaz, but Jaz has already hit 3lb and is still going.)

That turned out to be quite a random post in the end! But you get the idea. I'm fine with however it works out. I'll donate to T as soon as I know you're planning on sending him.

Edit:: See post below too!

Nope...haven't got Photoshop! And I have no other program either to do that sort of thing. It's all basics on my PC at the moment.

Although now I remember, I believe I have a teddy exactly the same as CC-Charlie, so strictly speaking it could work that way.

Re: Idea - the international guinea pig adventure?

Just post your location on here and I will add you to the list. The only people your address will go to are the person sending him to you and the person you are sending him to.

To CavySpirit (CA)

To be in time for other Charlie's birthday I will send him in Laura's direction tomorrow. The list is in order of sending - KPIGGY, Laura220 and Aertyn - can you confirm that you are all OK to send him quite a distance? I can help a little with postage if needed.

Please only give your address to the person on the list after you when they PM you to request it - please do not do this just now in case the list order changes. Again, under 18s must have permission to do this.

Please make sure you also put your address on the outside of the envelope/box you send him on in in case he gets lost. Please do not send him surface mail if posting internationally - this can take MONTHS!

When you receive Charlie, take some pictures of him with something in your local area (it can be anything, not necessarily a famous landmark) AND your pigs. Please email me the pictures at lorna@charliethetravellingcavy.co.uk (yes, I registered that domain on my boyfriend's web hosting, believe it or not!).

I have ditched the idea of a passport - just put a postcard in with him with a little message on it and mail it on to the next person. Make sure the postcard isn't too big as we don't want it to take up too much space!

Please donate to T before you receive him. That's all I can think of right now!

Re: Idea - the international guinea pig adventure?

It's all good as long as the shipping isn't too high over to australia for Aertyn. Do you have an approximate weight on him+packaging+accesories?

Also I still need to figure out how to use Paypal for the donation.

Re: Idea - the international guinea pig adventure?

If he is sent in a small envelope with postcards (nothing else) then he weighs less than 100g. It will obviously get a tiny bit heavier as each postcard is added. This is part of the reason I ditched the notebook idea.

Re: Idea - the international guinea pig adventure?

I'd have to ask mum, but it depends on the weight, I'd have to send him to Canada right?

I'll call up the Post Office today (I was actually planning on going their anyway, but I think mum has gone out without me) And I'll find out how much it costs to post something to Canada that weighs, say 150g.) I should know definately by tomorrow whether or not I can do it.

Re: Idea - the international guinea pig adventure?

Can I just ask why I am not on the list? I requested 2 different times to be put on there. Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, I guess I'll go eat some worms.

Re: Idea - the international guinea pig adventure?

One of us 'Yanks' needs to map out his route so we can pass along addresses. I don't mind being last on the eastcoast and shooting him out west.

Example MI->PA->CT->VA->GA->TX->CO->AZ->T in CA.
