Candle wax on stuffed animal

I was cleaning the bedroom and noticed green candle wax on a few stuffed animals, I don't know how long its been there, but does anyone know how to get it off? I scraped off most of it and ran them under warm water with soap but there is still a green stain. Any suggestions as to a powerful stain remover or any tips?

Thanks in advance

You could always wash it...I've had mum wash a few of my stuffed toys in the past.

The green stain might not come out without bleach.

My mom makes Ukrainian eggs, so I grew up around a lot of dripping wax. There is nothing I can think of that will completely remove it from clothing or plush fur. I wish you luck, but it may even repel bleach, which unless the animal is white, you don't want to try anyway.

Thats a good point CaK. Since candle coloring is made of oil, isn't it?

I don't think all colouring is made of oil, some is just really concentrated dyes. Wax is very nasty stuff, and my mothers favourite colour to work with is black. The house always smelled nice though, with a pot of bees wax simmering on a hot plate all the time. Boy did she hate it when she woke up an hour after us on weekend mornings and we had been "busy" a 12 eggs all decorated up, usually a yolk or two smushed around, and wax droplets everywhere!

She sells them on Ebay now, it makes me behave because or Paypal account is linked, if I misbehave to much with contacting sellers of useless or harmful pig products, I could negatively affect her account

Re: Candle wax on stuffed animal

Thanks guys, I will probably just throw some stain remover on them and wash them next time I do the laundry, and see how it turns out...I got most of it off the white one but theres a big glob on the brown one, the stuffed animals are "Twisted Whiskers" I don't know if any of you have ever heard of them, they're dogs and cats with fringy strings as fur...so I don't know how well a green stain will come off fringe ().
