A MUST read about Game Threads

It costs Teresa (CavySpirit) a lot of money per month to host her sites. Along with the recent changes there are changes being made to the forum policies as well. Gaming threads or just stupid threads in general will not be allowed on the forum anymore. They waste valuable space and forum resources. When you use the search feature it has to dig through all threads including the useless threads. The General Chat is a Chat/Discussion forum, it was never intended as a gaming forum.

I will be closing all game threads and they will be physically deleted in 3 days.

That stinks, but if it means making the forum a better place and helping T save money, I think that is a good decision.

Yeah, I'd much rather no games than no forum at all.

The game threads were closed for a reason. Games are no longer allowed. Please don't continue them here. Today is day 3 and they are all being physically removed. I am also deleting the two previous responses on this post as they are a continuation of the games.

What are game threads? Honestly, I've been on the internet since 93, and I don't know what is meant by that.

We used to have several threads that were word and/or trivia games on here. They were shut down.

Yes, but that still doesn't explain to me what they are exactly. Is that the kind of thread like someone has to find a picture and label it, or put a caption for the previous persons avatar? I've never heard them referred to as "game threads."

What is most important is that they are no longer allowed. Several threads had been started that were games. Some were along the lines of "If you have this word, post the first word that comes to mind" or "Post a word that begins with the last letter of the word in the previous post." Basically, word association games. Others were trivia games, or things like playing 20 questions. They were worthless, took up space, and cost extra money to keep the frivilous threads running.
