Waah, it's NOT Fair! I just need a moment to rant about this... please, if you don't want to hear me complain for a bit, read no further! I had surgery on Thursday, to get my wisdom teeth out. The dentist said mine was fairly bad, because they had to take a section of my jaw bone out on both sides. When the novicane was still active, I bit the right side of my tongue VERY hard without knowing it... so now I can't feel the whole side of my tongue because of that, and I keep biting it when I talk or try to eat but I can't feel it because it's still numb! Very frustrating! I look like a chipmunk, my face, tongue, and neck are very swollen and hurt. I can't open my mouth wide so it's hard to eat pudding, so about all I can eat is that, sherbet, and oatmeal. Eating anything at all is sooo difficult! grr! When I talk, it sounds funny like I have an extremely bad lisp, because my tongue is *so* swollen! OK I'm done for right now... just needed to get that out of my system! *laughs*

Re: Waah, it's NOT Fair! Ah, didn't mean to make a "pity post" type thing... I just wanted to complain for a little while *laughs* It'll be fine in about a week or a little more, don't worry!

It was bad for me because of the angle and direction my wisdom teeth were growing in... one was growing almost perfectly horizontal, and was really deep and close to the jaw bone... the other side was growing at a 45 degree angle underneath my last molar, also very close to the jaw bone. Most everyone though, their wisdom teeth come in a reasonable angle, and the dentist will just wait until they either reach the surface of your gums, or are fairly close to the surface of your gums, and then take them out. That is MUCH better than what happened to me! WARNING! If you get grossed out easily, don't read the last part of this particular post! For most wisdom teeth extractions, they will make a small slit in your gums, in the form of a straight line. They reach in, and just pull the tooth out. For mine, they had to make an L-shaped slit (as my teeth were sooo deep) then drill into the teeth and jaw bone, and take the teeth out in little tiny pieces. They also had to give me about 7 shots of novicane, when it usually takes 4 if you're just getting two out like I did. Seriously, I've now had 13 teeth taken out... this was the worst one for me by far, and I'm almost possitive it won't happen to you! It was a rare case, in my case. It probably won't be nearly as bad as mine, really! |

Re: Waah, it's NOT Fair! All of mine are actually in all the way. I've had a broken one for awhile now and I'm alittle scared to get it out. I'd rather give birth than have a tooth pulled,

Re: Waah, it's NOT Fair! I am so pitiful with not being able to eat that my dad took pity on me... he cut up a piece of pizza and a couple dumplings into TINY pieces for me to eat. Aww I love my daddy! *beams*
