You need atleast a 2x5 for three males, a 2x6 would be better. If you make the upper level a full 2x4 that would be an ok size. |

I recommend at least a 2x5. You can go with other variations as well like 2x6 or 3x4. |

so would it be ok if I got a 2x4 and then did an upper level the same size as the bottom level??? |

No, you need at least a 2x5 main level, but you could do an upper level anywhere from a 1x2 to a full 2x5 upper level. Lofts do not count in the overall sq. footage of the cage, so you really need the main level to be as large as possible. That's why we are telling you to go with a 2x5 main level for 3 boars. |
