Build or buy?

Hey guys,

I'm new here. I don't have my pigs yet but I've been doing my homework on them for about a year now. I'm ready to seriously start thinking about cages.

I want to make a C&C cage but I am seriously handicapped when it comes to using scissors or box cutters, etc. Ha. We have several sign stores here in town so I don't think getting the coroplast would be a problem but its the cutting I am not looking forward to. So, in looking through the C&C site I saw that you can buy just the coroplast bottoms, but as I thought about it, why pay shipping for something I can get locally. What would yall do? Would yall risk messing up the coroplast and do it yourself, or just splurge and buy it and pay shipping?

Also, just had a brainstorm...ya know those plastic things that go over your carpet to make the chairs roll better? You can get them at the office store in some pretty big sizes. Would that work for the floor of the cage and put the cubes around it? What would you attach to the cubes to keep the bedding in?

Thanks..
Alice

Making a C& C cage is very easy, just follow the directions step by step. If you make a mistake in cutting the coroplast you can repair
it with duct tape or packing tape and try again. Think positive and
just go slowly, one step at a time, you can do it!

Coruplast is corrugated like heavy cardboard except it is plastic. It is what you typically see signs made out of. Anyplace that makes signs will carry it. Where do you live. Maybe someone else here will live in the same region and be able to direct you.

Re: Build or buy?

Ask the sign store if they can score it for you so all you have to do it bend it and tape it. They will most likely do it.
