The bigger the better - 2x5 would be good. If you're able to find materials, the 2x6 would be even better. Just make sure to put a bit of extra coroplast temporarily on the sides for the babies so that they don't get stuck in the grid openings. (If you buy one on this site, just write a note to include some extra coroplast for the babies). You can remove the coroplast when they're bigger. |

The bigger the better for your little animals to play |

I have a 3x4 that will house 4 sows comfortably. It's the equivalent of a 2x6. |

What is 3x5 the equivalent of? That's what I have for my 4 boys. |

Why don't you try making one over buying one. It's much cheaper to build yourself. |

Yeah, Ly is right. I spent as much as it costs to buy an XL and ship it here and I have a 3x5 with 1x4 loft and it's on cubes for storage underneath. So building your own is MUCH cheaper! |

If you could tell us where you live, then we can help you locate the cubes and coroplast. |

Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 For the C&C Cages, is there tops for all of them because I have dogs and cats and some of the pictures I see on here don't have tops. So that was my question. Do they have tops? |

You can make a top for them. Some of us have open cages because we don't have cats or dogs or other pets that will get into the cages. You can make a lid from grids or from wire shelving. |

You can buy the materials and make them yourself much cheaper than buying one through the forum. Are you located in the United States? |

You can find grids at places like Target, some Wal-Mart's, K-Mart, Bed Bath & Beyond, Linens N' Things, Costco, etc. Target is probably the cheapest. Coroplast can be found at sign shops and printing shops. It's also called "corrugated plastic". It's really easy to build your own cage. You can follow the instructions found here: http://cavycages.com/howto.htm. If you don't feel comfortable building your own, you can purchase them through the forum, http://cavycages.com/buycc.htm. Sue includes instructions on how to make your own lid with each kit. Or you can purchase extra grids to make a lid. |
