Cage cover instructions

I receive quite a lot of email requesting instructions and dimensions to make a cover for their C&C cage. So, if anyone has the time to take a peek at www.cavycagecovers.com and give any suggestions or advise, I'd sure appreciate it. I'm just learning html, and I've only gotten as far as the very basics.

I do plan on placing more photos/instructions as I make a few covers myself and take photos. I'd like to put in a table with dimensions needed to cover different size cages using shelving and also using the grids.

Thank you!

Re: Cage cover instructions

I think it looks great so far! My only suggestion is to replace the compass picture in the top right corner with a guinea pig picture of some sort. It is a great start and I think it will help many cavy slaves in the future! Keep up the great work.

Thank you, Plummie - Yes, I agree about the compass picture - if I only knew how to replace it. I had to choose from their layout, but there must be some way to change the picture. I'll work on that, thank you!

Re: Cage cover instructions

To replace that picture but keep they layout you'd need to edit in a guinea pig to image3.jpg in your image editor and upload it back onto the server. Just make sure the picture is still the same size as it was before. That way you can keep with those pretty colors and not need to redo all of the html. The site looks awesome, im psyched to see how it turns out.

Re: Cage cover instructions

The design templates have pictures to choose from, but there's nowhere for my own picture. I submitted a question to them, and they told me I can't change the image on the design template. They suggested starting from scratch with a blank page without a template. I don't think I'll be able to get the colors, the banner and the buttons, though. They suggested using Dreamweaver or Frontpage, and I guess that's something I'll need to do. Do you know if those programs are okay for beginners?

Re: Cage cover instructions

Dreamweaver and Frontpage are both good for beginners, I prefer Dreamweaver myself. It would take a lot of work to change the image in that kind of template (as well as a good understanding of HTML code) so maybe for now the compass is fine.

Re: Cage cover instructions

I use frontpage and script most of my own stuff, and have used dreamweaver at school. They're both good programs, but you should learn some HTML. It's just good to know even if you did use one of these programs as you can understand what the program is doing better and maybe make some pages from scratch with notepad. Lissa Explains is a good site to start at, it says its for kids but I think it's helpful for everyone.

Yes, "Lissa Explains" is great, I got further with that site than any of the others. Everything that's on the site now I did in html, I just can't change the design template. I think I"ll try Frontpage if that's good for beginners - or if anyone has any other beginner suggestions. Thanks everyone!
