Question Where can I find the best deal on cubes and coroplast?

I'm tight on money right now, but would like to get my guinea pigs a bigger cage. So does anybody know where I can find the best deal on cubes and coroplast?

Re: Where can I find the best deal on cubes and coroplast?

Depends on your location. I found cubes at BB&B for $11.99 (after 20% coupon). There are 16 grids in the box. I have not found cheap coroplast. The sheet I got was around $30. You can use other things like shower curtain if you use fleece. Shower curtain, then towels, and then fleece.

What is BB&B? I'm a resident of colorado. What do the prices for cubes look like at places like Home Depot or Lowe's?

Re: Where can I find the best deal on cubes and coroplast?

BB&B is Bed Bath & Beyond.
Bed Bath & Beyond - Silver Stacking Modular Storage Cube Set (Set of 4)
You can go to their website and click on store locator to find a location near you.

I don't know how much these cubes cost at Home Depot or Lowe's. I heard they cost around $24 at Walmart. With the coupon, I think BB&B is the best option.

You can sign up for 20% coupon on BB&B website.

Re: Where can I find the best deal on cubes and coroplast?

I have never seen the cubes at Home Depot or Lowes. I have seen them at Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond. Some here have seen them at Wal Mart, but I have not. Then again, I don't go to Wal Mart very often.

In my area I haven't seen cubes in the store at BB&B in a while, but you can get them online if you can't find them. They have the best price. Around here, they are $25 for the chrome grids at Target. Most of the other colored Target grids are the wrong size.

Re: Where can I find the best deal on cubes and coroplast?

I was just looking online, and Staples has a 10 pack for $12.99. They are the 14'X14' ones and as far as I can tell, have the nine grid holes. If you have a store in your area, they can ship them there. Yes, that will waive the delivery charge, so it's $13.77 with tax if you ship to the store!!

Re: Where can I find the best deal on cubes and coroplast?

Sorry, I tried to edit this in but I guess I was a little too late

Until I was able to find choroplast for a decent price, I used scrap linoleum. I found a roll at Home Depot for about $5. I punchd holes in the sides with an awl and zip tied them up on the grids to make a proper side since linoleum isn't as sturdy or easy to work with as the choroplast. But it worked well for me for about 6 months. I also used a scrap piece laid out flat on the floor with grids on top of it as a quarantine cage. It worked well, too, though not as well as tying it up to the sides of the grids.

Where did you find your coroplast for that price? I want one. Now I have 1 on one level and use vinyl on the other level.

Re: Where can I find the best deal on cubes and coroplast?

The thing with coroplast is that it varies greatly with where you are. I am near Detroit, MI, and I just paid $11.75 for a 4x8 sheet of the coloured kind (dark blue) and could have bought white for $10.75. Other people in other places have said the best they could find was around $30.

Re: Where can I find the best deal on cubes and coroplast?

I just searched on the main site for find materiels and I came across Regal Plastics and I was hoping that I could find cheap coroplast but then I was worried about fitting it in my Ford Freestar but then I heard you can roll it up to make it smaller since a 4x8 can basicaly make a 3x6(which I don't need)

Anyway, I'd still have Coroplast left over so if I ever decided to get a new Guinea Pig maybe I could make a 2x5 but maybe make it a little smaller then the size requirments only because a 2x5 takes up a whole entire wall of my room!

We didn't have any luck attempting to roll the coro. What we did was score it with a box knife and fold it to fit in our car.

Well, maybe the people at Regal Plastics would help me roll it up.

Re: Where can I find the best deal on cubes and coroplast?

Well, good ol Hawaii doesn't have Bed, Bath, and Beyond and I know I can order it on line but I am hoping to buy the grids today. I have checked, Home Depot, We don't have staples, Wal Mart, and Office Max to no avail. Any other ideas? Also, how about the coroplast...where can I find that?

Re: Where can I find the best deal on cubes and coroplast?

I found a box of 16 cubes and connectors at Biglots for $20.

I called around about coroplast. One sign store have a 4x8 sheet for $27 and another had the same size sheet for $10. Try private sign stores. The first store I tried was a franchise and was much for expensive than the private sign store.

Good luck!

Re: Where can I find the best deal on cubes and coroplast?

Some places will give you a discount if you tell them what you are using it for, a lot of places think you are making homemade signs. I pay $15 for a full sheet of color or white. Also, make sure you call around the first place I went to I paid $40 for a full sheet and one place tried to charge me $88.
