Re: A commercial cage that is big enough?

My pigs kept chewing on the coroplast and I found hard work to cut it and build it too. They also chewed on the tape I put to keep it together, and as I only have one pig at the moment this cage will be great. Does anyone know if the ship them to the U.K.?

Last week I bought a sheet of coroplast that was 8 feet long 4 feet wide and white for $23.91, at Fast Signs in Cleveland with tax. They would have sold me less but I had a blank out as to how much I needed for a 2X3 C &C cage expansion and knew I would need extra for the top cage expansion. I have the equivalent of 9 + 8+6=23 Cubes of cage space right now, and I think only ever used 2 sheets of coroplast. Where the heck are they charging you 45 bucks? I bought the white, corogated plastic.

Here's my pretty piggy cage.
I love your set up, I'm definitely thinking of changing the one I recently built to look like yours, How much coroplast did you need for this set up?
I am cleuless as to how much I need.

I tried to look for them but failed. =(
I am lucky cause I got free coroplast from the realestate even it is not prefect but saving from buying them that great. I did find out from signboard agent, they are selling 1200mm x 1800mm for AUD40. I am glad I got them for free.
Now I wish I able to locate those wire cubes. I need to get all those things first before getting the GP.

I just bought my grids at Bed Bath & Beyond last week, set of four for $14.99. If they don't have them in stock, you can have them oder it for you. Style #15850

Oh that is a big project. You need like 5-6 boxes of grids for that one madakri.

Oh yes, I have the boxes, what I'm totally confused about is how muchcoroplast I would need for the cage in question. I'm terrible with "number measurements", so I mainly use my eyes to measure. As wierd as it might sound, I build a lot of things around the house, and I never use mesurements, I guess that comes from driving a really big bus for over 12 years.
Anywho, any help that I can get as far as how much coroplast I need, would be highly appreciated.
I am ordering the colorplast as soon as I have an idea of how much I need.

Thank you.

Thank you.
It depends on the coroplast sheet, not all are the same size. I got mine in a 4x8 inches sheet. I used it for my lower 2x4 grids, with a high part on one side (depending how high you want the sides, you will remain with just a small longer piece.

If you analyze maple's cage, she has coroplast in a 2x4 grids (that is 27"x56") plus 2x3 grids( 27"x41") on the lower part. Add to this the sides of the coroplast that fold in. Up you have a 2x2 grids and almost a full 2x3 grid cage. If you recycle well your coroplast (meaning you measure it, cut it good, and reuse some parts), you can get away with 3 sheets of 4x8 inches. If not, you need 4 sheets.

PS: I know all about eye measuring. I am an artist, so that comes natural to me, not to everyone else though, including my husband, He has learned though to trust me. He can not even measure corectly with a measuring tape in his hand.

OMG, thank you for understanding the measurement issue. Both my son and I work for Transit in Miami and we've learned on how to use eye measurements, like most Bus Operators, verses any other type of measuring.

I just finished reorganizing the cages and placing the order for 4 sheets of colorplast.

Thank you so very much for evrything, you've literally made my day. Now if I just had a magic wand to pick up all the mess in my living/dinning room area, it would make my year.

I will post pics of the finished cage a little later on wen I pick up this mess.

Mapleowl18, thank you for posting in this thread a picture of your cage. I just finished redoing mine very similar to yours and I love it and it's way easier to clean, thanks.

You are welcome! Sorry I can not help you in the cleaning part. I myself built the cage top to bottom, redesigned it several times and all, cut the coroplast. I solved the cleaning by asking my husband to do it, as I was very tired after giving everything I could for the piggies in building a very solid lasting cage.
