Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Hi All 1st time posting here. Greetings from Singapore. I am considering a 3x7 C&C cage, how much would my total cost be like if I were to order from Cavy Cages. Thanks. |

I don't think there is a 3x7 that is made by C&C, but you can make your own. It's really easy! http://www.cavycages.com/cubes.htm http://www.cavycages.com/howto.htm http://www.cavycages.com/where.htm You can get the cubes at stores like: Target, Meijer, Bed Bath & Beyond, Linen N Things, Wal-Mart and so on. The coroplast can be found at your local sign shop, just open up the yellow pages and start calling around. If you have any questions along the way feel free to ask. EDIT: Doh. I just saw that you were for Singapore. It might be easier for you to find the cubes on e-Bay then. |

I am gonna move this over to the "buying a C&C cage" forum where Sue will see it and answer your question. She is the one who sells pre-made cages through the forum. |

Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Looking at those links since we are gonna have to put together a C&C cage sometime soon, but it says the inner squares of a grid are 1 1/2 inches.....is that the spaces between the wire on the inside? If so these little ones can squeeze themselves through that, they are only babies. Without putting coroplast everywhere but the top, which they wouldn't be able to see out if you did that, is there a smaller cube that the spaces are not so far apart? |

If they are really, really young, you'll have to baby proof the cage. Search the forum for baby proofing to get some ideas. |

You cut the coro so the sides are like 8" high. As the babies grow to be too large to get through the holes, you can trim the coro back down. |

Wow! That is one big cage! Keep in mind that reaching to each side will be a complete hassel. I have a 3x4 and cleaning it is really hard. |

When we build ours we've decided we are going to build it 2x6 since we have a 6 ft table it can go on. we don't want to go any deeper than 2 ft. for the very reason you mentioned, particularly since I'm in a wheelchair and so my reaching capability is kinda weird anyway. According to the Guinea Lynx website 2x6 is enough space for up to 4 full grown cavies so even if one of my girls has babies and we keep 2 more sows our bases are covered. |

A 2 x 6 is actually 7 feet long. A grid is 14". |

Very true. I have a 2X6 as well, and I have it on a 6' table. To make it stable for the length of the cage, I picked up a sheet of plywood (approximately 8') and set it on the table. |
