Switched to Oxbow!

Today, we went to Petsmart (blah) and bought Oxbow Cavy Performance and Orchard Grass hay for our girls and I cannot even begin to tell you how pleased I am! As much as we hate to admit this, we were feeding them Wal-Mart brand food, and we hated it with a passion. I refuse to make excuses for why we did not buy Oxbow sooner, but I do know how disgusting and unhealthy those cheap pellets are. What matters is that they are getting healthy food now. We do give them Kaytee Timothy Hay, but decided to try another type of hay to mix with the Timothy. We just put in 3/4 cups of the pellets (1/4 in three bowls for three guinea pigs) and we filled the hay rack with the orchard grass. Freya went straight to the pellets and started eating! : ) She seemed to love them. Then all three of them went and ate hay. Villie and Haylee would eat a few pieces and then run/popcorn a few laps and then go eat more. It was adorable! We are never going back to those cheap crap pellets. Oxbow customers from now on.

My pigs really like Oxbow orchard grass. They get KM's hay but when I don't plan ahead that's what I end up getting in a pinch and they sure don't stick their nose up at some Oxbow orchard grass

I recently switched also and my guinea pig LOVES it! I was feeding Kaytee (vomits) hay and pellets. Once I had like half left still I was like whatever and threw them out and went and bought Oxbow. I am happy to say that we will never be going back to Kaytee!Posted 11-06-09 at 12:54 pm by wheekers01
