It all started when I was in 5th grade, one day my best friend Pam came home with a Guinea Pig! My gang of friends were in awe! This was the sweetest little creature I had ever seen. We debated for a week of what Pam should name her. Each of us had our own suggestion, mine at the time was Clover. She ended up being named Patches! We all loved Patches and one by one our crew of 5 each got our own pigs! (well one girl got a rabbit but she was still apart of the bunch!) Jenny had Cinnamin, Jessica had Salt and Pepper, Pam had Patches and I had Abby. We would meet up everyday after school with all of our pigs. Cinnamin was the only boy of the bunch so we all had to keep a close eye on him! Eventually the two little girls who lived next to Pam got two pigs of their own as did the boy who lived down the street so our heard grew to 8! Although at the time I was not properly educated about how to care for my pig (I say this because I was "pet store" educated) I loved her very much. If I could go back now with everything that I have learned from C&C cages and Guinea Lynx I would have made so many changes for how I cared for Abby and I could have given her a much better quality life. It makes me feel horrible but 16 years later now I take that emotion and I put it into giving my two pigs that I have today the best quality life that I can!
