Meeting of the Guinea Girls

My guinea girls are officially cagemates as of this past weekend. Poor Amy spent months living next to Borat but never having full contact since I didn't want any baby Bor-Ams. Now she's got a same sex friend, and although they're not snuggling together like BFFs, they're at least co-existing peacefully.
Amy's my dominant Tank Girl, so I worried that she might bully mild-manned baby Quinn. Their very first meeting was a little dicey, but the second time was lots of dominant play-acting with no real scuffles.
Once they decided to get along in a neutral area, I let them have floor time together. No bloodshed there, so I stripped down and rearranged the two cages. Hubby connected them to make one big living space. Just add guinea pigs, and voila! The Guinea Girls are living together.
I love having two piggies together. I used to feel so sorry for Borat when he rumblestrutted at Amy through the grid wall between them in the playpen. Now, with two girls, it warms my heart to see them chasing each other around, popcorning madly, and trying to "out-cute" each other to extort more treats from me.
Having lost two piggies in less than three months, I'm hoping that the third and fourth time is a charm. Amy is hale and hearty, and Quinn seems healthy and active so I just pray she doesn't have any hidden genetic time bombs like Borat did. It's been a rough road with lots of ups and downs, but I hope I have my Guinea Girls for many years to come.
