I had an awful day today. It didn;t start out awful though. It was cage clean out day as Mondays always are and I was enjoying that. I have been so busy with school and the apartment has become a heck of a pigsty. The guinea pig cage was waaay cleaner than the rest of the apartment .
So, I began to start cleaning up, and then my boyfriend mentioned to me how the nuissance snails are really overwhelming my big fish tank. He told me to use some medication called Had-A-Snail to kill them. It is copper based and I am always reluctant to add anything to the water. But, he kept bugging me about it so I just went ahead and put the drops in the water. The snails appeared to be affected by it right away, but about 5 minutes later, so were my fish. They hovered at the surface, and one of them even began to lay down on his side. I was freaking out. I was rushing to grab the hoses for draining and filling the tank, and being that we were in such a panic, lots of water ended up on the floor and all over us. We were trying to drain and re-fill the tank as fast as we could. I was so scared I was going to lose one of my precious fishies! (By the way, they are huge cichlids)
Slowly the fish improve, but so did the snails! Grr! It was problably the most frustrating momentof my life. Nothing was accomplised.
Now that the fish were ok, I reluctantly went back to my housework. While washing dishes I accidentally knocked a glass over onto the floor and flung hot dishwater right into my eye. After I finished the dishes I decided to wait to finish cleaning tommorrow due to my unfortunate luck...who knows what else would have happened, haha!
I just had a snack, and now my lips are starting to swell up, ugh, I didnt know I had any food allergies!
....I just need to go to bed

Man do I know how that goes. My place is a mess, but I make sure my piggle lives in a palace.

If you ever need to know about fish (any fish at all), go to Badman's Tropical Fish . They are very smart.. its like this site only with fish. You will just love the people there. Just don't be mistreating fish or they will let you have it...as they should. hehe.

when you have one of those days, its best to stop, breathe, relax, think its funny, and then go about the day. always works for me.

p.s.: I'm not saying you mistreat your fish. Just seen alot of people over the years that does.
