Guinea Pigs

A year and a week ago, I brought home a goofy little piggy from the animal shelter. She loved to eat paper and hated to be seen. I gave her hay, lettuce, and bell peppers, and she gave me two more piggies to spoil. Together we convinced several people that guinea pigs have as much personality as any dog or cat.

Today I re-realized something: I haven't taken a single picture of my girls so far in 2013. I've recorded a few videos, but I have no still images. This is because... I have no camera. I have a video camera that only takes videos, not pictures, and my phone doesn't have a camera either. I've been working for almost three months now and have zero bills to pay, so there is no excuse for not getting a camera other than I don't know what kind to get! There's a bit of irony in that, there are so many ...

Facebook won't load properly and my first instinct was to post on Facebook about it... Since I can't, I'll vent that frustration here.

To the main point, today at work I had a serious temptation. Though I have been trying to avoid viewing the classified ads at my company, I looked today and saw... free guinea pigs. It's seriously tearing me up, I want to go grab those piggies before someone else decides to get them just because they're free! The ad didn't say whether the two pigs ...

Last night I woke up at about one in the morning to an odd sound... Chirping! It was really strange, as I rarely hear my girls make any noise at night. Along with the chirping I heard a sound like grinding teeth, but I couldn't tell if it was coming from the same pig (or any pig at all) because it was dark and I was half-asleep. I had the vaguest idea in my mind that I had heard the same noises before, so I think maybe this moonlight performance has happened in the past and I just hadn't fully woken ...

As I said in my previous post, Elli tends to be a very vocal slave driver when I get home from work. As soon as I come in the door she starts wheeking, and seems worse if there is anyone else in the room. At my old house she would keep quiet until about seven, but I think the reason she freaks out when I get in at five thirty now is (drum roll please) I give them their morning veggies earlier, so she thinks the afternoon ones should come earlier too!
