I should've began school about two months ago but could not, due to physical issues I was (and still am) having. My mom and I decided to take the bus 2 miles away to a school (to get a tour and such).

I woke up at about 7am, because my mom wanted me to wake up early (they never gave us a pinpointed time to come). We didn't know the area very well, because we recently moved, so we decided to walk the entire way, regardless of the Southern Florida temperature (91F).

It wasn't that long of the walk, but we realized the area in the direction we were going was pure road, grass, and brush. I do remember there being about 12 feet of sidewalk at one point, and then it dissapeared, so we were back to walking on the side of the road, dodging cars, or walking near the brush.

I do remember getting thirsty along the way, but there was no real city-like civilization in sight. Just one huge residential area.

We got there, and found the school was empty. Turns out it was Teacher's Work Day. My mom laughed (Note that she was the only one laughing) and gave me the warm bottle of water that's been sitting in her purse for who knows how long. We waited about an hour for the next bus to arrive (I was NOT walking back) and we got off the air-conditioned almost empty bus about 3 blocks away from our apartments.

I saw a sign store in the same place before, and decided 'what the heck' and knocked on the door. They said it was open, so I came in slowly, and to my surprise, a full-grown waist-heighted Dorberman made a bee-line straight for me. Atleast he was very... Uhm... "Friendly". I asked one of the guys (the other one was occupied/in a deep trance by the internet) if they had a full white sheet of Coroplast for a project, and he said that a 4x8 sheet white sheet of coro would be 15 dollars and he could have it by Monday. I said good-bye and thank-you, and backed away slowly from the overly excited dog.

We got home, and as soon as I got to the refridgerator for a drink, we got a call from the local newspaper. I answered anyway, since we didn't want their paper. At first I got from the lady "Uhm *long pause* , hello... Is your mother home?". I'm 18, and thought of telling the woman that I was completely capable of speaking for myself, but I just handed my mom the phone and a glass of water, and quickly made it to my room with my juice and fell asleep.

So, I guess today was bitter-sweet.

Cons:

I wasted time at the new school.
I almost became roadkill numerous times.
I nearly passed out from exaustion.

Pros:

I found a cheap sign shop less than 3 blocks away.
I know around where I live now.
I made a new doggy-boyfriend.
