Today I babysat alone for the first time. The first two (or three? I can't remember. It was either two or three) times it was with my sister as I have babysat before by myself, but only my little siblings, not someone else's child. My sister was just across the street and was ready to come over if I needed her and I had my cell phone with me. Before she even left Amelia went down for her nap because she hadn't had a nap in the morning. So basically I watched TV, going in Amelia's room one time when she woke up to give her her pacifier and leave the room and she fell back asleep. She woke up about five to eight minutes before her mom got back she fussed a little but I went to the window with her and she calmed down and just stared outside, then I started showing her pictures that were on the wall, and then she saw her toys and we started playing. After her mom got home we gave her her snack (she did not want to sit down in her highchair when she woke up, even after her mom got back she didn't want to until we showed her the treat her mom got) and shortly after I left to come home.
Phew! I was so terrified I would have to call 911 or something, but it was fine and I feel fine doing it by myself now. It is even kinda fun!

Practice last night was the first practice in three weeks (the last one I didn't feel very good and the two before were canceled because of rain) and it was fun.
We did a drill where we had two lines, one on each side of the goal, both players going next touch the goal post and when coach blew the whistle one would run to a cone and around that and come back towards the goal to shoot a ball which coach throws out when they get there, while the other runs around the goal and comes to defend.
Then we did a drill where one person passes the ball out to where you run up to it and try to score, coach was the goalie.
Then we worked on corner kicks. He showed us a "crash" drill where the left striker (or forward) is on the left goal post, the right striker (or forward) is on the right goal post and the center striker (or forward) is near the middle out a little ways from the goal and the midfielders are either right near the goal and whenever the person who is kicking the ball, as soon as their foot makes contact with the ball, the midfielders run out, and, hopefully, pulling defenders away from the goal. The other is where the midfielders are away from the goal and as soon as the person making the corner kick makes contact with the ball we rush towards the goal. Hopefully it will work.
We didn't exactly work out how it would be since he was trying to figure it out, because if one of them was doing the corner kick that would leave three people for the goal part and only one for rushing away or towards the goal, I was going to suggest pulling a defender up to help, but I don't know if we can do it and leave only two people defending as well as the goalie. What if they get the ball during the corner kick? That leaves everyone up there trying to stop them and get the ball back and only two people defending with probably a bunch of their players.

Then we played World Cup. It was fun. What you do is each person teams up with another person and they pick a country. Someone (coach in this case) throws or kicks the ball up and out and everyone has to try and get it, before you shoot you have to yell out your country and if you don't before the ball gets in the goal, it does not count. If it does count your team gets to go sit down. The last team left is out.
You keep doing it until you have one team left and they win.

I have been bedding shopping. Trying to find new bedding for my sister and I's room. We won't be getting it for a while but I like to find what we want well in advance. Ideally what I want is white. White sheets, white pillow cases, white quilt and adding in some color with throw pillows (and of course other things in the room) and painting the room either a rose-y-ish, mango-y-ish or peachy-ish color.
But I can't find anything I like. Not a one quilt.
We WERE maybe going to go with Shabby Chic, but I went to her website today and:
http://www.shabbychic.com/
I don't like what our Target has.
I can't believe it's that hard to make a simple white quilt.

On Thursday when my sister and I went over to babysit, she stayed for about an hour and a half after we got there. Showing us around and showing us where everything is, telling us what Amelia can and can't eat, what to do for naps, gave us phone numbers etc. Told us we can get something to eat and/or drink if we want, we can use both TV's.
She stayed until Amelia went down for a nap just this once to make sure everything went okay. The whole time she was gone Amelia was asleep (except for one time when my sister used the bathroom, which is next to her room, and she woke up. I had to go in their and give her her pacifier and stuffed animal back and lay her back down, she cried for about 5 minutes and fell asleep). It was really quite boring because there is never anything I like to watch on TV at that time of day and I had no books or magazines that I could read (next issue of Birds and Blooms we get I'm saving for when I babysit).

I'm doing that little iodine patch test again since I got rid of my thyroid goiter and am waiting to see. I have a feeling I'm at least moderately iodine deficient.

ETA- Uh-oh! I forgot to check the patch of iodine after 6 hours but I just remembered and it hasn't even been 12 hours and it's gone! So I am at least moderately iodine deficient. I'm going to do it again tomorrow and set the alarm on my watch to remind me to check it every hour to see just when it disapears. I have a doctor appointment soon, so I guess we will deal with how much I need then.

Well, I learned today that it isn't just this Thursday we are babysitting, but every Thursday. :D That means I can earn money that way.
As well as I might be walking their dog.
I also will be either an apprentice(sp?) at a pet grooming place at the end of this year, and from what I can tell you get paid Bather's pay (which is minimum wage). If apprentices don't get paid (but, like I said, someone said they do) I will just be a bather and earn money that way, then go to a school for grooming when I'm old enough. I found a school that is really good and is near us. So I will be making money that way too.
Which means....I can finally take horseback riding lessons! I almost cried when I realized it. I have been wanting to ever since I can remember. I already searched for stables, and found two so far. One we would have to e-mail for prices, the other is $25 for a half hour lesson either private or group (private are for new students, and the instructor gets to choose whether you can get private ones or not) and $40 for one hour lessons, again private or group. I would want the one hour and hope to get private lessons (I do better learning when I am one on one with someone). Not a bad price for horseback riding lessons is it? The one I would have to e-mail for prices is about 40 minutes away though. But one instructor has over 20 years of experience and the other has 12 years of experience, and you yourself can choose whether you want to do private or group lessons.

Edited to Add:
We lost our game on Sunday. Coach said that apparently they got a lot better and some different players. It was a pretty even match, making it an extremely hard game, because, IMO, the game is a lot harder when you are evenly matched. The ball just kept going back and forth and back and forth. They scored one goal within the first few minutes, it was very unexpected. They never got another goal. We almost got a goal quite a few times. There was a lot of banging and pushing, twice a girl from each team fell (not our fault, but the other teams, and yet both times we got the foul called on us). Kristin (not the coaches daughter but the other Kristin) had a ball hit her face and her braces cut her gums and started bleeding. It seems like every time (seriously almost every time this happens) I pressure someone for the ball they would boot it and it flies through the air and come towards me. I always flinch when that happens because before during a game I have had the ball hit my face and I was really dazed. I had a very bad headache afterward. Kat (the normal goalie) while playing defense headed the ball twice during corner kicks, and it had to hurt, I was almost at the other end of the field and could hear the thud as she did it. We had to pull her out because she started getting dizzy, but she was fine within a few minutes. We put her in goal and she caught quite a few would-be goals. It was very frustrating to us to lose. I played forward every time I was on the field. The first few minutes of the game I was out, but then he put me in and only pulled me out once for about 5 minutes, which I was glad for because it was hot that day. I got a little sunburn on my face, but it doesn't hurt at all.

Today, not even an hour ago while I was on our laptop, when I had plugged the AC adapter in, the green light was not showing up, and the battery ALWAYS starts losing power like you wouldn't believe when it isn't plugged in, and then shuts off. Well, I thought both the battery and the AC adaptor died, but it turns out that the outlet wasn't working. BUT, there is something wrong with the battery. Right now it says the battery is not detected. So my dad was searching to find out what was wrong. Turns out that something is probably wrong with the motherboard part that controls charging the battery. Someone said that if you dropped it, you could have messed up that part, and not that long ago, someone tripped over the cord and it fell (it's partly my brothers fault, he had it hooked up to the Xbox 360 and had it in sitting in a different place then where he normally has it, so someone tripped over it and it fell). The only thing that doesn't make sense is the battery started doing that in December of 2008 maybe even before that. But I can't remember when the laptop fell, so it could be that. We do know how to fix it, but it's very complicated and it might explode. So.....
Our make-up game for soccer is April 5th, and, of course, is Spring break, so we may have to forfeit(sp?), because a lot of the girls won't be there, Coach and his family might get back in time for the game but if he doesn't, another girls dad will coach. This Sunday he said that the line-up (or whatever you want to call it) he told us is not in effect because we are playing a different team, and that if we don't beat them there is something wrong (last year, when I wasn't on the team, they beat them, and they aren't a very good team). But I'll still probably be mid-field.
Today my brother and I went searching for the basketballs. Let me paint a picture. Our yard slopes down to a creek, which is also in part of our yard, to the right side, facing the house. The basketballs fall down there a lot. SOMEONE did not bring them in the garage when they were done. And it has been raining really hard lately. We had to walk through the drain pipe (it's really big, a grown man could walk through it if he wanted), it isn't extremely long, but with how you have to walk it takes longer. We got the other side (which is across the street and behind our neighbors house) and started looking in the rest of the creek. We found them, but....there is an overgrown abundance of thorns. We certainly couldn't walk through the creek to get to them, so the other option was to walk over and through thorns. We got most of the way to them and then couldn't go any farther, so my sister (who came over to see what was taking so long, and believe me it took a while, we had to go slowly) took her shoes off and rolled her pants up and walked through the creek and under some thorns (they also grew over the creek some) and grabbed a stick and snatched the balls). I should have done what she did in the first place, but I'm sqeamish(sp?) about walking through water of which I have no clue what is in it. My brother and I quickly realized we could not go back. So we ended up going to the right and over around a lake and back through on the other side of the lake, and cross through our other neighbors yard across the street and back to our house. We also found our football which was a little farther down the creek, that was easy, all we had to do was walk up to it and pick it up, there were no thorns over that way. I have little scrape/cut marks all over my legs because I was wearing bermuda short (*hits head* Dumb, Dumb, Dumb! But then again I didn't know there were thorns), and a long one on my arm. I hate thorns. The scrapes/cuts don't hurt anymore, though. My brother and I decided if it happens again, we would do what my sister did, or buy a new one. It was not worth it. My brother didn't get hurt because he had long sleeves on.

Edit-Oh! Coach said he wouldn't put me in goal again! Woohoo!
And My sister and I are going to babysit a neighbors daughter on Friday (she just turned one and she is an angel), not this Friday but next, while she goes shopping. AND I might get to walk their dog for them. She has some problems, due to not getting enough excercise and they can't walk her like they need to, and my mom was talking to her about it today and I might get the priviledge to walk her! I would be so happy if I can (from the sound of it I will be, I'm even getting treats to train her to walk properly). I do not want payed, but they always insist on paying. I don't want payed for babysitting but she said that she is paying me no matter what. *sighs*

Well, yesterday it was 79 degrees, and today its only 46! Talk about a drastic temp. change!
Yesterday at soccer practice we only had 7 girls, including me, so we couldn't do much. I had to wait with the coach and his daughter for about 10-15 minutes until my dad finally picked me up, so he showed me some tricks, and stuff and me and Kristin practiced shooting, and talked a little bit. I'm going to try those tricks he showed me today and hope I don't fall on my face. This Saturday I start the game as a midfielder (of course ;) )
During practice he said that the last game there seemed to be a lot of confusion as to whether it was a goal kick or a corner kick, so he was talking it over with us, and had us work on our goal kicks until we could kick it over their heads. He also was scouting out the other team and said they crushed the other team 6-1.
Only once before have I been on a team and beat the other 7-0.
So he showed us what they did a lot to get the goals and work on that. He also said that they had a couple of BIG girls on their team, just to warn us. I have been slammed into and knocked down by a girl as big as he said a couple were. We have our regular goalie for this game so I am happy. :D
She can kick the ball over our heads and clear across the field.
A neighbor gave us a little kiddie pool he couldn't use any more and my little brother loves it.
Lets see.....I hate bubblegum. I know, that was totally random.
I hate lime green (unforunately my room is a lime green/mint green color :yuck: ).
I can't wait to plant our garden, the day before yesterday me and my sister were pulling up ALL the pine straw that they used as mulch (my sister said that the previous owner better hope they never meet up with her! If you haven't ever picked up matted wet pine straw, it is a pain in the butt!), and pulled out some weeds in the landscape part. we used the hoe to "till" it, and are waiting to see what some of the flowers that are popping up are before deciding whether to leave them or pull them. I went around the driveway, pathway to the front door, and the back door, and the place near the creek where the bench is on, spraying weeds in between the cracks with vinegar (they SOOO get on my nerves, especially when in between cracks!). And they are already dying. Me is happy. :D
The dude who replaced the post for the front steps did not paint them right. the paint is peeling off like crazy, so we will have to repaint it.
I hate painting.
We really need to get a bird bath, several different bird feeders, and a humming bird feeder. And food for them. And a place to store the food.
We had to leave that stuff at our old house, due to no room. We had the biggest moving truck we could get (we should have gotten a semi) and had to rent another truck (a 16 footer) and our 15 passenger van was packed so we couldn't barely move, and we still couldn't fit the bird stuff.
Rocky keeps trying to open the bag of treats (his favorite, Wellness Chicken and Lamb treats), we caught him under the table in the dining room, wrestling with it to get it open. It looks so beat up now.

The cats are nuts. I just got them a pack of 12 mice (fake) because their old one is beat up and needs thrown away, and they fight over that thing like it was their last meal!
Last night, Rocky was trotting around the couch with it in his mouth and Princess was right there, he screeched to a halt and starting hissing and growling at her, fur puffed up, and she did the same. They fight each other for it. I only give them one at a time because otherwise they lose interest.

Does anybody watch 24? I cried when Bill died this week. I wonder what will happen next week.
Well, gotta go.

Edit:
They canceled the game because it was raining. I don't know when the make-up game is, I don't even think coach knows yet.

Well, last night was our first soccer game of the season. It was pretty good. other than I don't exactly like the ref. He called all of the penalties due to us, and missed tons on the other team. The other team was very pushy-ish (meaning pushing people and such). The worst moment was when my coach saw me limping (other team member stepped on my foot very hard) and pulled me back to be goalie! I begged him not too, as I have never played goalie before, but he did it anyway. By the time I went in as goalie, my foot didn't even really hurt anymore. Having never played goalie before, I had no clue as what to do. I'm still not sure what happened but one of my team mates was trying to help me (she felt really bad, because she knew I did not want to be goalie) and told me to toss it to her (we both thought it was out of play, I guess), and she caught it. Well, it was in play so the ref had to call it, he said he felt bad because he knew it was an accident but he had to call it. So the other team got a penalty kick and scored (of course, I'm the worst person to ever put in goal!). Luckily it was 2 to 1 so it was 2 to 2 afterwards. I felt SO embarrassed. The game was almost over after that. Coach said I did a great job (not sure if he meant the rest of the game or goalie, but he said he wouldn't put me in goal again when I was begging him to not put me in and it was only for this game). When we were walking to the car I started crying. That had to be the most humiliating moment of my life. One of my team mates ran up next to me and said I did great and wanted to know why I was crying and my dad told her. She said I shouldn't worry and we all make mistakes and I don't remember the rest.
But still! If he ever says he going to put me in the goal again, I'm going to threaten to not play right then and there! You don't know how humiliating it is unless you have done it yourself.
At least it was a tie(sp?).
It would have been worse if we lost.
*sighs* At least I caught the ball the other two times.

Last night we had another soccer practice, and since we missed one practice because it was raining we HAD to practice because we have a game this Friday, and only had one practice prior to yesterday. It snowed on Monday, and we still had some snow, it was all melting and it was a muddy mess, so he talked a little bit and we practiced some in the parking lot. It wasn't for long because it was really cold. Well, during practice, I slipped and fell (my cleats are slippery on parking lots). Landing on my elbow and hip. The coaches daughter was really worried and said "Dad, is she okay?" He asked and I said I was fine ( I was a little stunned that I had fallen, and I don't know why I always say I'm fine when I get hurt), she (coaches daughter, also on the team) then said "Are you okay?" I again assured them I was fine. We were pretty much done then, he talked briefly and we went. I got in the van and started crying. My elbow and hip hurt bad. My mom said she had seen me fall. I pulled up my sleeve and found my elbow was bleeding (not badly) and I scraped my arm and had a little puncture mark on my hand. My elbow started swelling, so my mom had me prop it up. We got home and cleaned my arm bandaged it up and put it on ice. She was worried because I couldn't grasp anything very well, but I told her it was because my arm was cold. I mean it was freezing outside and then I had ice on it. And sure enough when my arm got warm I could grip things fine, it hurt my elbow because it is bruised but it's fine. I have a bruise on my hip and my elbow is sore. I would rather hurt any other place on my body than my elbow. I hate it when I bang my elbow on doorways and stuff. It hurts.
I now hate parking lots.
