I recently became a foster mom to an adorable little boy named Arin. He was rescued by Metropolitain Guinea pig rescue in the Washington, DC region. I wanted to start this blog as a way to let people know about Arin and any future foster piggies I may have.

Arin has been nicknamed "Peanut" by my fiancee and I think the name suits him well. His coat is various shades of brown with a few white markings. He is very well camoflaged in his carefresh bedding! He's happy to just sit on your lap and cuddle or eat. He loves to eat his pellets and any fresh food (he hasn't turned his nose up at any fruit or veggie yet, unlike my picky girl pigs!).
He wishes my girl pigs liked him but they seem insistant on keeping their club of two exclusive. Maybe you or someone you know has a girl pig that will love him back! I will post some pictures later so everyone can see just how cute he is!

Are you afraid that you will become too attached to him and be sad when he is adopted? I only ask because I'm trying to decide between fostering and adopting. What do you think is best?

Yes, that was certainly a fear for me. And yes, I have become attached to him. But, even after he goes on to a new home, I will still have my two girls I adopted about a year ago. I think that they will help to keep me from feeling too sad. It might be a good idea to adopt first, then consider adding foster pigs if you have the time and resources.

Thanks for the advice. I was hoping I would find a foster mom on here that I could ask.
