Being my first blog post on GPC, I thought I'd start off with something nice that has happened to me recently.

About a week ago, I came into the possession of a baby rat. I knew that I could not take on the responsibility of another pet at this time, so I started out on my quest to find a better place for her. I introduced her to my walking home buddy, and she, as I did as well, instantly fell in love. After much persuasion, my pet-less friend convinced her mother to give the rat a trial run in their home.

Lemon, derived from the original name, Lunner. Valentine came from the heart shaped color spot on her back.

Today my friend brought Lemon my Valentine home, and is in the process of setting up a better cage. This is only a temporary arrangement, until we find out the final verdict from the rodent fearing mother. Everyone keep your fingers crossed!

This just gave me a really warm and fuzzy feeling inside. Yes, I do miss my Valentine, but the look on my friend's face as she walked away with her possible new pet made it all worth it.

I can see myself in the future, possibly doing foster cases for other animals. This rat really touched my heart and I just had to share with all of you!

Send your prayers for Lemon my Valentine!

~The new rat lover with that warm feeling inside.
