Petstore vs Adoption

Posted 10-01-09 at 08:40 am by Mamma-Harlow

Now, I'm not trying to justify buying guinea pigs from pet stores as good, or better than adopting from a shelter. What I would like to say though is that I can't help but notice peoples hostility on this site, and others, when it comes to people who have bought their piggies from a store. Your snobbery is childish and very inconsiderate. People need to take into account that not all of us live with a guinea pig shelter in our areas, or even in our towns. God's Little Creatures Rescue and Rescuedguineapigs.com

Posted 06-09-09 at 04:29 pm by ptbruiser

I keep all my animals separated and I make sure that the adopters are not using them to feed snakes!!!

I work with Rescuedguineapigs.com in Sellersburg, Indiana and Nelson County Humane Society. They had me pick up 3 guinea pigs which got excellent homes.

I love taking...

Lemon, my Valentine - A rat re-homing story

Posted 06-04-09 at 05:11 pm by catzeye21138

Being my first blog post on GPC, I thought I'd start off with something nice that has happened to me recently.

About a week ago, I came into the possession of a baby rat. I knew that I could not take on the responsibility of another pet at this time, so I started out on my quest to find a better place for her. I introduced her to my walking home buddy, and she, as I did as well, instantly fell in love. After much persuasion, my pet-less friend convinced her mother to give the rat a...
