On this site 27-28 inches seems to be a common width. Is this just due to the fact that it is the length of two grids? I was also wondering is it okay to have longer more narrow cage? Is there a recommended minimum width for a cage? Sorry for all of the questions I am just thinking about reconfiguring my girls cage and am trying to use the space available to maximum.

Thanks Diane

Two grids i would think would be the minimum. Any narrower and their toys and hideys would easily get in the way and it would be hard to get around and especially do laps.
