Multiple blankets

Hi guys,
I'll be getting a real big full sheet of fleece soon, but as for now I have several blankets to put in the cage. What is the best way to connect them? Overlapping them makes them neater but I'm worried it won't wick. Thanks!

Re: Multiple blankets

I would recommend just one layer of fleece with something absorbant (cotton towels work well) underneath. The fleece will wick the urine and the towels will absorb.

Re: Multiple blankets

I overlap mine just a little bit and safety pin them together (with the actual pin underneath the fleece so the piggies can't chew on it just in case). I have to pin the sheets together because my girls are fond of going UNDER the fleece which is very annoying because it's not good for them to walk around on the towels where their pee is!

Generally mine seem to pee in the same areas anyway and not along the join so I haven't had any problems. Sorry if this doesn't help you at all but that's my experience.

Re: Multiple blankets

It doesn't matter if you overlap them or not if they aren't fleece, as they won't wick anyways. Blankets are not a very suitable choice. Get your fleece as soon as possible.

Re: Multiple blankets

I'd try to overlap them so that they are just overlapping a little bit, then attach them with something to hold them together. That way, there is only a small area then where the fleece may not wick as well. I wonder if you could put some velco on the overlaping section to hold them together.
