Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0
I have used cheap/thin fleece blankets as bedding and it worked great the first time. When I cleaned the cage I put in a thicker fleece blanket that I got from Goodwill. It worked well also. When I did the 2nd cleaning I put the cheap/thin blankets back in and smelled urine within a few hours. I then changed it and put an unused thick blanket and it has done good so far. I washed w/ vinegar as directed but did not notice the smell until after I had already put it in. I am a new fleece user, so this was the first time I had reused fleece. All of the fleece that I have used wicks perfectly and I use either towels or puppy pads and a mattress pad underneath. For those that are experienced fleece users, do you find that the thicker fleece has less odor? |

I actually have noticed that my thicker fleece smells worse. I think it is because it retains more urine, but I am not sure. Hmm... Well, now that I think about it, some smells worse than others, regardless of thickness. Weird. |
