Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 It depends on what kind of blanket you are using. If it's fleece, you can use it with something absorbent underneath.
You can't use fleece or towels alone. If you use towels alone, it will get wet and stay wet on top. If you top with fleece, it will keep the top dry and let urine wick through to the towels underneath. You also cannot use fleece alone, it needs absorbent layer to pull the wetness off the top. I don't like to use towels because they take a long time to dry. I use mattress pads and incontinence pads. You can also use puppy pads. Make sure to wash and dry fleece at least 3 times then test it before putting in the cage. To test, put a layer of fleece on top of absorbent layer you've chosen to use. Then pour some water on. It should not pool on top. Sometimes it takes 10 minutes to get through. If after 10 minutes you still see water pooling, that means your fleece doesn't work. The best types of fleece are anti-pill, blizzard, polar. Don't use plush fleece, they won't work. |
