Lightbulb Shredded Green Sheets for kitchen bedding?

I was at GameStop with my boyfriend wearing my "Live Your Life the Guinea Pig Way" Shirt and the manager saw me. He was exited and asked if I had pigs. We continued talking while my boyfriend looked and the man asked what kind of cage I have, as well as what bedding I use. He said that "Green Sheets" were great. Now lucky me my boyfriend shows up and tells me what a Green Sheet actually is, he said it is a newspaper that is made of recycled paper and he can get them at work for free. I was curious to know if anyone knows about this paper and if it is safe for the babys if I shred it.
Its amazing who you meet in town from a t-shirt!
Oh and Just to mention it this man had 2 or 3 pigs, a 6x3 cage I belive, and used shredded green sheets. He also got a kick out of the boyfriend calling them rats and my mention of him not yet being aware that if he doesnt want pigs he doesn't get me.

I am going to do the same, if it is soy-based I believe its ok but I want to make sure it has no lead or anything harmful in the ink before cutting it up and laying it in the cage. I figured it wouldn't hurt to check hear, maybe someone knows about green sheets or even uses them. If not I plan to contact the company or just browse online.

Re: Shredded Green Sheets for kitchen bedding?

Green Sheets are printed on eco friendly paper and are pinted with soy-based inks I found it on there website after a bit of digging. It took a while to navigate the site but im glad I found it, I will post how it works out to.

Re: Shredded Green Sheets for kitchen bedding?

Newspaper, in general, makes a poor bedding, in my experience, shredded or not.
