Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0
On my top floor I have the hayrack/kitchen, litter box with yesterday's news (SO much better than carefresh) and a small pad of fleece with two towels that the food dish sits on. I'm finding the pad gets really smelly really quickly, like by day two. Does anyone find their two layers of towels stay wet? I'm thinking maybe because that's the preferred hang out spot (so it gets peed on a lot) that the two layers of towels don't get to dry. Do you think I should cut out a layer of towel maybe and just go with one? Might it dry faster? I wanted an opinion before I go hacking away only to find out it didn't help! |

Guinea pigs tend to go around their food and water. Maybe you should put the food dish on the Yesterdays news and use the fleece in their playtime area. That should reduce the stench. |

When I had pigs before I took the bottom of a pet store cage and placed it inside their big cage. I filled it with bedding (carefresh) and placed their water bottle and food dishes and hay rack inside it. It worked out perfectly. 9 out of 10 times they peed there. I had fleece everywhere else in the cage. I should still have pictures of my cage on my profile. |
