Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 I just picked up two fleece blankets at the Family Dollar for $4 each. They measure 50"x60". They had lots of fall colors, plaid and animal prints..... i got zebra stripped. So for $8 I have a second set of bedding for my 2x3 w/ 2x2 upper with extra left over to cover the ramp and have a hammock!! |

Wow, I wish my Family Dollars had that. They're just... Cheap. It takes them months to restock on Fleece blankets. |

I just set up fleece in our cage this weekend and used these same blankets that are pink and purple (intended for a baby shower gift!) and they work just fine. I was courious if they would work as well since they were so cheap... and they did!!! |

OK, so I think I may have learned a vaulable lesson... less is not always more!! When I put these down the first time they seemed fine. I cleaned the cage last night put down put these "cleaned" fleece blankets. I could smell urine within 10 minutes. When I changed them out the last time, I washed in hot water w/ 1 cup vinegar. I forgot to toss them in the dryer, so ended up rewashing them then drying. The smelled fine when I took them out of the dryer. Since I am a newbie to fleece, this is the first time I have put down already used fleece. The last couple of changes, I have had new fleece to use. The order of my bedding from bottom to top- Cotton mattress pad, puppy pads then fleece. Maybe because it's cheap fleece it doesn't clean as well???? |
