I currently use carefresh bedding. I don't know if fleece or the carefresh is better. Any suggestions? |

It's basically a matter of personal preference. Have you read the Fleece Project sticky thread at the top of this forum section? |

Personally I much prefer fleece. With a 2x5 cage using loose bedding would cost a fortune, whereas the fleece method costs nothing once you have all the fabrics. It can be pricey to get the fleece and mattress pads (depending on where you go) but you make your money back within a few weeks. I've also found it saves me time. I used to have a rabbit in an indoor pen of a similar size on loose bedding. I scooped out his litter corner daily, and the full weekly clean out took me about an hour. Using fleece I poop scoop once or twice daily, which takes under a minute, and a full clean out (inc changing the hay box, preparing veggies etc) takes less than 15 minutes. I must admit I have never used Carefresh - back then I used woodshavings before I knew any better - but I don't really like the smell you get with loose beddings. I've never had any problem with odour using fleece. |

Thanks! I am working on expanding my cage because I am getting a new pig. I will definitely try the fleece |
