Fleece: Washed fleece with fabric softener, is it still ok?

I searched recently if anyone had ever washed their fleece with softener, but apparently no one had that problem.

The detergent I use actually has fabric softener in it, and is an organic detergent.
I washed it twice until I noticed "Fabric softener inside!" on the label.

Can I still use the fleece? I'm washing it with regular, chemically detergent now, but I'm scared it won't work anymore.
And my dad'll kill me if I have to go buy more fleece, he's pretty cheap.
