Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 okay so today I just got two guinea pigs, 1 is almost 2 years, and the other one is a year and a half. mother and daughter. I have just received it from someone else and I do not know how to approach them. I know they are very frightened about the situation, but I don't want to come on in a negative way. The previous owner used a bedding, but i want to change it to fleece. How should i approach so in doing this? Also, what if i change the cage completely? Is this bad or will it be okay since it is a new home for them and what not? Please help, I do not know how to approach these piggies. Thankyou |

I would start by making an appropriate sized cage. They'll have to get used to that. You can change to fleece once you get it all prepped. Remember fleece needs something absorbent underneath for it to work properly. You'll have to make sure they have an appropriate diet. Make sure they have access to unlimited grass hay and also a high quality pellet. Please check out the diet and nutrition forum for information on a proper with a variety fresh veggies daily. There are sample menus and charts on how often to feed certain veggies. Check out all the stickies in the forum sections and you'll get a lot of basic information from those. |
