pigs eating fleece

yea ive been using the fleece for over a year now. I noticed my pigs try to bite everything that isnt tied down. But i bought this new blanket to swap out with an older one i had was getting worn out and they chewed a hole in it and it became rather almost large enough for them to fit through. Idk what to do i have to buy another blanket again but if they keep chewing through them whats the point? any advise or ideas would gratly help

Re: pigs eating fleece

Are you giving them unlimited grass hay? If not, it's very possible they will stop chewing on the fleece if you start giving them unlimited hay.

Re: pigs eating fleece

I'm not sure why they do this, but mine like to chew clothing when you hold them on the occasion. It almost seems like their doing it to hide themselves and make a cover srt of thing. Maybe yours are doing it too?

Re: pigs eating fleece

My girls like to chew on the the fleece even though they have unlimited pellets and hay. They get veggies in the morning. I found that i have to re tuck the fleece, were the hay rack is, every time i sweep out the cage. Other wise Jazzy and Stella like's to snack on it. But i just seem that when they are doing that it's because hay got suck between the fleece and wall of the cage.
