GPL1, I think that I might inquire as to the process that the manufacturer uses to deal with the types of ink that are found in the newspapers and magazines. I know that burning "slicks", glossy colored adds found in newspapers, releases toxins into the air. If the baking soda is not loose, it would contribute to odor control. Oh, do your piggies like to chew paper? I guess, as I type this, I wouldn't go there. I'd rather err on the side of caution. Perhaps, if you want to try it, you could use a small amount in one area and then watch how your piggies react to it. Sorry to be a nay-sayer. |

Oh, no, thats okay. As for my pigs I don't have any yet and can't adopt any until after the First of January (I just found out), so I don't know if the ones I will get would do that. I think you are right, and I will just stick to Carefresh in the kitchen area. I just googled it, and it doesn't look like a very comfortable bedding. |

I love this bedding. I use it for all my cages and it is awesome on controlling smell as well as not a messy as aspen. It costs more but it is well worth it. I only use the gray not the pink or purple scented bedding. |
