I'm making the fleece purchase and I don't want to NOT purchase enough since I found a really cute pattern relatively cheap. How much fleece would it take to cover a 2x4 grid (before it shrunk)? A 2x5? |

Generally, you want the fleece 2-3 inches larger than the bottom of the cage. So measure your cage floor and then add the extra inches. |

For my 2x5 cages I use just 2 yards of fleece but that's because one end is a "kitchen area" that doesn't have to be completely covered with the fleece. So for a 2x5 to totally cover the cage you'd probably want to get 2.5 yards of fleece. I don't have any 2x4's but since they are 56" long and a yard is 36" you would probably want 2 yards to make sure you cover the whole thing or a yard and a half if you were going to do the kitchen thing on one end. I like to have a lot to tuck under the towels, blankets, etc underneath, though, so some may not agree that you need as much extra as I like to have. Hope you love the fleece as much as I do! |
