Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 I need some ideas on how to secure my fleece mat* down. My boys are still very young (a.k.a. hyper) and they love to dig, so they keep messing up their fleece. I have a alternative style cages made of wood on three sides and grids as a front and roof, therefore no chloroplast to turk it into. I'll post a photo asap for a better idea about what I am talking about. I have thought of using snaps, like the ones on baby clothing only bigger and stronger, by attaching them to the base and the underside of the mat. that way I could just snap it into place. But I just wanted to see if anyone has some cheaper methods. *the mat is two towels with added towel in the areas where they pee and drink, sewn together then sewn to a piece of fleece. |

Some people use garden pavers or bricks in the corners to weigh down their fleece. I just lay mine down and tuck extra fleece under itself, luckily my pigs haven't figured out how to dig under it. |

Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Here is a photo of my new pen: http://www.guineapigcages.com/photos...hp/photo/12109 ----- Do you think a litter pan in their 'pee corner', a wood house in another, a food dish in the third, and leaving the fourth empty would be sufficient to secure the mat down? |

I second the bricks, but you will need to wash them well, and reset them every few days. Also, I used to use nails, but I have realized how bad of an idea that was. Good thing the boys didn't learn how to remove them. Also, how would you tuck the fleece into the coroplast? I'm confused as to how people do this without bricks. Also, how would I sanitize bricks? In my back yard, there is a huge pile of bricks, and I would grab them. Is that safe? |
