Re: Carefresh, whats the difference?

I beleive the carefresh ultra( the white one) is supposed to control oders better but I use the regular carefresh and it is great!

Re: Carefresh, whats the difference?

I use fleece mostly throughout my cage but I use carefresh and aspen in my potty areas. First I have a layer of aspen and then a layer of carefresh. I've tried just carefresh but I think it absorbs better with both.

Re: Carefresh, whats the difference?

Carefresh ultra has been treated to have less dust for those who suffer from allergies and some people have reported it's more absorbent. It's also more expensive. I didn't find carefresh to be anywhere near as absorbent as shavings and had to clean the cage out twice as often. I also don't have a washer/dryer here so using fleece on the whole cage didn't work for long. Right now I have wood pellets under shavings(all spruce) for the main 2x8 and 2x7 and fleece for the top levels.

Re: Carefresh, whats the difference?

I have both kinds of carefresh at home. The only difference I can tell is that the white one (ultra) is much softer and seems fluffier than the gray. But I don't think the price increase is worth the "softness".
