No, my boys would just eat that. And I don't know that the dyes in the paper would be safe for them. If you want to give them a treat, take some plain undyed paper & run it through a shredder. But honestly, they'd appreciate a pile of fresh hay over paper anyday. And since you need to get that for their diet anyway, it should always be on hand! My boys' favorite "toy" is a brown paper lunchbag stuffed with hay. Just toss it in, and watch the fun! |

I'm very new to cavy's, but I will agree that the best "toy" I have yet put in there cage is a paper lunch bag filled with fresh smellin hay. They absolutely love it! |

If you have one, try englarging the opening of an empty tissue box (I just cut all the way down, so it looks like a big door) and filling that with hay. Also too much fun watching them yank the hay out and shove the box around! |

I agree, all those toys that come with "stuff that they like to use as bedding" I end up throwing away. I don't wany Aiden becoming sick because he ate some stuff the company thought might be good for them. I have a cave of fleece and Aiden spends all his free time in there. He doesn't need anything extra. |
