Aw I won't be able to participate. Though I do agree there needs to be a screening process. So I won't complain.

At least I'll get to see all these funny pictures!

Re: Idea - the international guinea pig adventure?

Cute passport! And the pigture is brilliant, daft. Just brilliant.

I will have to really think about where I can take Charlie. Obviously he will have to be photographed with Sir Charlie-Parsley and the cage ("Buckingham Palace" as named by my grandfather).
I can't really get out much as my mum has limited mobility now, so The Giants Causeway is out the window. Hmm. Maybe Belfast Zoo? The zoo is on TV over here so it would be better than nothing. Antrim Castle is another option, as is Lough Neagh. Yes, lots of ideas now.

I actually can't think of anywhere to take him...the bus stop?!

Re: Idea - the international guinea pig adventure?

Here's my list so far...

Scotland
daftscotslass

England
bromers
Piglet

Wales
Kpiggy

Northern Ireland
cavy-cool-crazy

Norway
Kjerstimoo

Finland
Laura220

Australia
Aertyn

USA
Slap Maxwell (CT)
Kriket (PA)
Percy’s Mom (VA)
Jdomans (GA)
Piggymom (MI)
JennG (IL)
Oceansoul41 (TX)
Harleigh (TX)
Amfeider (CO)
Suzilovespiggie (AZ)

I have not included maybes or my parents might not let mes on this list. If I've missed you or you're on it and don't want to take part please let me know.

This is also a rough idea of how he might travel - my US geography isn't brilliant so please feel free to help out!

With regards to the long distances (Finland - Oz - USA) would these people mind getting postage quotes? I could help a little bit if needed if desperate.

I think the best idea so far is to post him, perhaps with a postcard to the next person. That person should keep the postcard and then get one themselves for the next and so on? He will obviously have a little passport that you could write a little something in and design a little stamp if possible! I have just registered a .co.uk domain for his "blog" that people will be able to post pictures to and keep a diary of his travels.

I think the deadline should be this weekend for people wanting to take part.

Very important: If you are under 18 you must have your parent/guardian's permission to give your address out to the person sending you Charlie and the person you are sending it to (as obviously he will need a return address on his envelope).

I'm not sure as to whether or not to set up a restriction on who gets him - perhaps the receiver should have at least Cavy Slave status?

Any other suggestions welcomed!

Who is stacy?

What is going on with Charlie when he has been around the world. It looks like this is going to be set up before I go to the madonna concert so charlie will have to miss that .

Re: Idea - the international guinea pig adventure?

I think Charlie will end up in CA with T. Well I nominate that idea anyhow.

Daft, the Us list is super and it can work its way from JennG and Piggymom to New England down to me and I can shoot him out toward the west via TX. Of course it is all subject to change if others sign up. Maybe you should set a sign up date and then have a Mod lock this thread afterward.

Re: Idea - the international guinea pig adventure?

How are we going to get the address of the person we are sending too?
Will we all have a list of who he is going to visit, then when we recieve Charlie email the next person on the list to get their address.

Hmmm Anybody know as to why I can post replies but not start a thread (keep getting error message up)?

Re: Idea - the international guinea pig adventure?

Very cool idea. I'm going to install a member google map here. No need to step outside the site. You'll be able to add your 'approximate' long and lat. It will also give us a cool view of where our members are--also available as part of the profile.

Also, I can create a separate user group that you can sign up for to participate.
