2 beautiful girls in Iowa

Ok, so I was just going to get one of these beautiful girls tonight from a private owner, but when I saw what horrible conditions they were in it broke my heart! 3 full grown girls in a small pet store cage! I agreed to take them all,figuring even if I have to keep them atleast they are better here than there. 3 dogs, 1 cat, a hamster and these guys living in a very bad, dirty enviroment! Their toenails were grown out to corkscrews, but despite all this they are very trusting and loving. They let us clip their nails without a problem. Very sweet loving girls!
Anyway if you know of anyone looking for 2 girls who need a good home and want them, please let me know! Thanks!

Poor little sweeties! Was that owner breeding piggies? Why was the owner selling (giving away?) only one, I wonder?

She had them on Craigslist, and I know I shouldn't have been browsing but I can't help myself sometimes. She said that due to them working alot the didn't have the time to give them the proper love and attention. Someone else had already agreed to take 2 of em and that only 1 was left. When I got there, the other person had backed out and all 3 were available. They were being housed in a petstore cage and literally everytime they turned around they ran into eachother. They are very over weight piggies and it just breaks my heart. I asked if they got their hour minimum floor time and she looked at me like I had 2 heads, and said "no, they are always in their cage!" We'll see how today goes with their first not only floor time but also their first outside adventure

Poor babies. Do you already have a piggy? I was just wondering why you would keep only one...

Good luck with floor time. Since they were so crampped up they might not do any exploring for a while. OR they could be very happy to get floor time! Haha its always hard to tell... Just give them time and lots of little hidies. O and veggies spread out on the floor encourages them to move!

I already have 2. 3 seemed like a doable number when I sat down and figured it all out, and now I'm gonna have to buy more grids for my cage If I have to keep them I will, they are very loving and o so sweet. When i asked if they had names, she kinda looked like she had swallowed a bug and said no, they were all piggie. These girls are in for some fun

I just wanted to say that is kind of how I added 2 more guinea pigs to my already 2. I got two, and then started getting all into it. Not wanting any more, but just all of the sudden you have "guinea pig radar"

We got 2 boys and within a day realized we had a boy and a girl. So I adopted 2 more from the shelter - a boy and a girl so we could have the girl and boy each have a same sex cage mate. These shelter guineas were awful looking and one was heavily pregnant.

So now here I am with 4 guineas and one about to give birth. And I am scared! But in my mind (right or wrong) I thought I could give them a better life.

Darn it! i'm sure I will find some grids locally, but thanks tho! Ok I got pics uploaded onto my profile. Once quarantine is over they will be introduced. So far for floor time they are hiding in the one pigloo all bunched together. Honey's bottom is hanging out the one side, it's kind of cute. When I try to show them the other hidey's they run back to the same one.

Ok, so I was able to get all 3 set down and calmed down after their floor time and was able to check the sex...well the title of this post should be 2 handsome guys in Iowa. Maggie(now Mugsie) and Honey Bear(I think an ok name for a boy) have now been seperated from poor little Roxie who is now alone until quarantine is over. I should have checked last night but got so caught up in just letting them know that they were safe and loved.
