    2 Female Guinea Pigs Looking For a Home (Toronto, Ontario)

    Chocolate & Vanilla were class pets in a grade 7 and 8 split room. They were abandoned at a petstore that we adopted them from. Here is the information we know/were told about them;

    Chocolate is about 3 years old and a smaller golden agouti female, for front feet are tipped in white and her back feet are black. Her tummy is a soft golden colour and she has a small skin tag on her right ear. She is very friendly once you get to know her, but can be quite scared when placed on the floor without her buddy, but will climb right into your hands when shes scared. There arn't usually any problems when someone who she knows goes to pick her up, out of the cage.

    When we first got her we had to bathe them because they smelled so strongly of animal waste and she didnt love it, but she didnt hate it either, she is also fine with being brushed. She absolutley loves fresh fruit, veggies, and her hay. She gets along great with her buddy Vanilla, except when they have to share treats, so they usually get their treats on opposite ends of the cage.

    Vanilla is about 4 and a half years old, she is a larger himalayan female. Her coat is completely smooth, and her tummy is very soft. She isnt a big fan of being picked up when she is in her cage, but once she is settled into your arms or on your lap she is a complete angel. She is abit cautious when meeting new people, but once she has a bond with them, she will cuddle until she has to go back. Vanilla is always the one to start whooping(while whatever that sound is they make when they want food) to notify us that its lunch time and that she should be getting her treats. When placed on the floor she is much like Chocolate, but she dosnt really move until Chocolate is with her, or she sees a place to hide. She oves her stuffed animals and will drag them around the cage and use them as pillows. They love kids and is quite used to them. They arnt a big fan of dogs or cats, but who knows what could happed with time. I know that after 2 weeks at my house they started to enjoy my dog being in the same room as them.

    The only reason that they need to be re-homed is because they are really the classes pet and the teacher for the grade 7 and 8 split next year is allergic to them.

    They come with a travel cage, and what is left of their supplies. For a donation to the school we can give you their big cage(approx. $180 retail)

    it looks like this but it dosnt have the grill on the floor and it is a dark grey/silver colour

    They are located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

    I hope you will be able to find a new home for them. However, you may not list them as free on this site. We require that you charge a rehoming fee.

    Would a non allergic teacher in a different grade have the knowledge to take them? 6th grade?

    Personally, I hope that these pigs go to a home/family instead of a school, just considering the difference between the two lives. Good luck in finding a home for them!

    They are very beautiful. Poor little piggies. The big cage looks smaller than the minimum (7.5 square feet) recommended for two pigs. I hope you are able to find a real home for them (with caregivers that do not change year by year). Can you post an ad on Petfinder?
    The 'feed me' noise you hear is called wheeking.

    I'm glad these pigs may finally get away from whatever the situation is that they are in.

    6 months ago you were begging for help of some sort because you thought *your* pig was pregnant. The, when you were told to take her to a vet they were suddenly NOT your pigs but the school's. You have a decorated picture of these pigs in your gallery listed as your pigs BUT your adoption ad here says they are the school's.

    Your school is run by your father or grandfather (depending on your mood?).

    Your teacher in no way wanted to get rid of them OR get them help and you refused to do anything about it.

    Now, they are suddenly being gotten rid of. Thank goodness, but I hope someone decent takes them. I have to wonder what the real story has been this whole time and if you would recognize honesty if it came up and slapped you in the face.

    *Please note folks. I'm not attacking their desire to rehome these pigs I'm simply questioning the stories we have been fed and what the truth of this matter really is.
