| Hi we have two pigs we got from a really terrible pet store about a 6 weeks ago, one had 3 babies today!! we're pretty upset and stressed out about it because it was VERY unexpected, the other little girl looks like she is pregnant too, i thought my daughter was overfeeding them because they were getting fat! so we have three babies, all black and tan meduim to long hair, needing homes i havent checked what sex they are yet, we are still in shock about the whole thing, we want to find good homes for them so any help, or advice is appreciated. we DO NOT want to take them back to the store wew got the two girls from, becasue they put chickens in with the guinea pigs, in tiny overcrowed cages. so good homes are very important, thanks samantha |

| Re: Babies needing homes Please be sure to separate any boys when they are 3 weeks of age, or you will have more pregnancies. Best of luck! |

| Re: Babies needing homes I wonder how some people even make it out of bed in the morning without accidently killing themselves. Not being able to tell the difference between guinea birds and guinea pigs...Wow, that is way out there! When someone told them it was ok to put guineas and chickens together, I bet they weren't talking about guinea pigs! |

| Re: Babies needing homes I know its crazy!! we probably should not have gotten them from that pet store becasue i know it only supports what they are doing but the pigs looked pitiful and th chicks were pecking them! we have contact the appropriate authorityies to try and shut the store down, i kow they get alot of complaints. We adore the our guinea pigs and my daughter is very upset about the whole baby thing, i know we cant keep them all plus the other one looks like she is going to have some anytime now!! i just want good homes for them! samantha Quote:

Mommy pig will be fine with another pig in the same cage as her; in fact she will appreciate the company. Make sure you double check the sexes of each pig first though: http://cavyspirit.com/sexing.htm, even if you think they are pregnant! Be sure to ask any other questions you have and we'll gladly answer them for you! |

| Re: Babies needing homes What part of the state is Saint Roberts in? You can post ads on www.guinealynx.info, www.gpan.net, www.craigslist.com, www.petfinder.com. I would keep everyone together. The other girls will probably act as aunties to the babies. |

| Re: Babies needing homes Well my home is open to any boars (I am buildling a 18 sq ft C&C cage with a 6 sq ft loft so I have room for more) but I don't know where that place is so I really shouldn't say anything. |

| Re: Babies needing homes Post some pigtures. I want to adopt a boar or two but have had my eye on one in the Chicago area. (I emailed the lady in Decatur to see if I could get more info but no luck yet.) Anyways, I'm in the middle of Illinois. I may be interested in taking one or two off your hands. Just let us know. |

| Re: Babies needing homes Yeah, I may really want to take in one male or female. Let me know. I have five girls but wanted to add one more girl but I wasn't for sure if I wanted to after the rough introductions that happened last week. Everyone seems to be getting along real well. I think adding a baby girl would be better than an older girl. I'm really excited cause you're closer than the ones I've looked at in the past. Can't wait to see pigtures! |
