Re: We need homes-eastern Iowa ![]() ![]() Cute little noisy wheeks. They are never quiet and the cage is going to seem empty without them running around wheeking at everything. Last edited by aqh88 : 08-30-05 at 02:45 pm.

| Re: We need homes-eastern Iowa Also up for adoption is Licorice. We got him from the shelter where he was going to be adopted out with his cagemate, Snickers(female), and the cage they'd been living in which was about 1'x2'. Since he lived with only Snickers his whole life he isn't very good at communicating with other boars. Over the summer he lived with 9yr old Mischief but Mischief passed away a little while ago so Licorice has been alone. He won't get along with any of my boars and has a few scars including a slightly deformed lip from getting in fights. The main problem is he doesn't respect his spot in the herd order. He mounts anyone all the time and will chatter when he's even the slightest annoyed. He often chatters at us when we walk up to the cage. With another guinea pig that's somewhat dominant that behavior is unacceptable and leads to fights. Licorice needs a home with a very submissive guinea pig that will ignore his behavior or avoid him until Licorice forgets about it. He will not attack another guinea pig that doesn't attack him first. ![]() ![]() Licorice had also never had his toenails trimmed and will need continued regular trimming to shorten them and keep them from curving sideways. | Re: We need homes-eastern Iowa Oh. What cute babies. It must be hard to part with any of them. I know that I will have difficulty parting with any boars that sweetpea may have! Good luck finding homes. I hope it works out well for you. :0) |

Re: We need homes-eastern Iowa YEah Licorice is very pretty. However, I know for a fact he wouldn't get along with my boys from the way you described his behavior.

Re: We need homes-eastern Iowa I have insomnia so I can't really drive far. Between either lack of sleep or the medicine I take to get sleep I'm always at risk of falling asleep at the wheel. Chris can help drive but he has class and work so 100miles is probably the limit and only if someone really wants one of them.

Re: We need homes-eastern Iowa Is Licorice a candidate for neutering or did I read somewhere that you thought he was too old to risk the surgery?

Re: We need homes-eastern Iowa I would guess he's close to 5yrs old and probably too old to be neutered.

Re: We need homes-eastern Iowa I'll check one more time if you want but I was 90% certain on day 5 that they were males and I've only gotten more certain since then. If they aren't males then they have some weird flesh growth over their pubic bone ![]()
