I am looking for a buddy for my newly rescued male guinea pig. Anyone near me?

Re: Looking for a male piggie in Arkansas

Hi mamaroo, this is Ly from gl. I am a mod here. Welcome to Cavy Cages!

Were those petfinder pigs not available anymore? I think I am the only one from AR here on this forum but I am still looking for boars for you. Are you looking for 1 or more boars?

Re: Looking for a male piggie in Arkansas

Hi Ly,
I can't get a reply to my e-mails about the pet finder pigs. I would like to start with just 1 boar. If those 2 come as a pair, I'd take them though. I LOVE Dozer! Wish he was closer.

Follow up- Mammaroo now has Bubba. I took him to Little Rock this morning and mammaroo's hubby and kids picked him up from me. Now Bennie will have a buddy and playmate.

Awww. Ly, I'm glad Bubba will have a great home. I know you're sad seeing your babies go but they are going to great homes where they are treasured. Without you Mammaroo and I wouldn't have our sweet little angels.

Re: Looking for a male piggie in Arkansas

It was so cute because mammaroo's daughter said Bubba looks like a sheep. That's what I said when I first saw him too. She had to hold him right then and there. I hope mammaroo is happy with him. I think I will check gl and see if she posted anything there about him. I know mamma's hubby and the kids like him!

The only other pig that might leave my home is Patch and that is only if my mom takes him. I may have to just take him over there and "forget" to bring him home.

Talking Re: Looking for a male piggie in Arkansas

Hey Ly, got your e-mail. All seems to be going well here. We tried to change his name but we all just keep calling him Bubba so we gave up. He was just meant to be "Bubba."
Benny is still unsure what to do with him or think of him and Bubba is just chattering and squealing at Benny like crazy. It's too funny!
Bubba knows NO fear either. I put Benny down for floor time and he might move in a 5 foot radius. Bubba has already investigated every square inch of the kitchen, dining room, and living room!
I think Bubba's floor time will definately be in a pig pen. (That's Paul's project for tomorrow)
It's been fun discovering thier differences too. Bubba's hair is much more coarse, Benny's nose is longer and more snout like. Bubba obviously "talks" more. I have tons of questions about introductions. I think I'll start a thread at GL
I haven't taken any Bubba pics yet, but my nick name is "Papparazzi" if that gives you a clue. Paul's right, there will be plenty to post!

Re: Looking for a male piggie in Arkansas

Kewl, I can't wait. Yes, Bubba has always been quite the adventurer. I give the pigs floortime in the bedroom and one minute he would be in one area and the next he would be on the other end of the room. His original name when I got him was Jay-Jay. He just didn't look like a Jay-Jay to me so I gave him a new first name of Bubba and his middle name became Jay-Jay (JJ). You could put the Harley on as his middle name! Then he can be Bubba Harley. Doesn't that sound like a good old fashioned redneck name!!

I can tell you that Bubba will probably be or want to be the "boss" pig. He was that way with Patch. He will rumblestrutt a lot at Benny when they meet and will probably chase him around and try to hump him. That's all normal. Bubba has never been overly agressive with Patch. He would just remind him from time to time that he was the boss.
