Unhappy Orlando Piggy Needs Home!!

Is anyone in the Orlando area that is interested in adopting a piggy? It's a male and I can post pics later. Also, I have a 2x3,2x3 and over 25lbs. of cavy cuisine and all kinds of things that I would also like to sell if anyone is interested. He's great and I love him very much, but I recently moved in with someone and they are alergic to him. We've tried lots of things but he gets really sick and it's just not working out. If anyone is interested or wants more info. please let me know!

Re: Orlando Piggy Needs Home!!

This would do better in the adoption forum. More people looking for piggies will look there. Maybe you can ask a mod to move it.

Good luck finding a good home. Did your roomy try Claratin or something like that? My best friend is over and as long as she takes her medicine she's fine around the hay.

Are you sure he's allergic to the piggie? It could well be the hay. If he's allergic to timothy hay try orchard grass or bramuda hay.

I think they have an allergy page on Cavy Spirit. Go there and do a search. Maybe you will find something helpful. Try searching the GL boards.

thank you! someone moved it! Yah, we tried claritin, it's not the hay because we washed him and she picked him up and her whole body broke out in what looked like hives. she can't even be in the same room as him. its really weird because my last pig wasn't like this with anyone.

Re: Orlando Piggy Needs Home!!

Hi,

I live in Winter Springs which is thirty minutes away from Orlando. My three boys are Piglet, Roo, and Hershey. I have been looking for a friend for Hershey and would love to adopt your boy. I would love to also pay a fee for any food, caging and other things you have? Let me know what works for you. I would love to give your baby a happy home.

Re: Orlando Piggy Needs Home!!

Wow. That sounds awsome for him! He's been really lonely since my other boy died a couple months ago (old age, nothing medically wrong with the pigs) so that would be perfect for him. I have about 35lbs of Cavy Cusine, tons of fleece, a sofa, other hideys, and a huge bag of zip ties if you need to take the cage apart to get it to your house (or if you have a truck, even better!). Let me know what things you think you would want and I'll come up with a price and hopefully thats ok with you. I'm sure we can work something out! Also, he is pretty much potty trained. I use my old store bought cage in one level of the c&c cage and he pees in there. Although he does poop everywhere, but I think most pigs do that. If you have any other questions please just let me know! Here are some pictures of Bailey, the cage, some accessories I have, and food. Tell me what you think!
(By the way, I live in Orlando, by UCF on SR50 and Rouse road--if you know where that is)

Re: Orlando Piggy Needs Home!!

Girl, the whole thing looks awesome. As a college girl myself, I can say I will take anything and everything you have. I'm not kidding. I will buy the whole caboodle from you since I am just building my own cavy resource caboodle myself. After Piglet, the other two just kind of sucked themselves in and now I am still catching up with learning everything and finding out what they like and don't like. So I will take every thing right down to the last zip tie LOL. I do have a question about Bailey. Is he more of a dominant pig or submissive. I think Hershey was only being dominant because he had to stand up to Piglet who's my bazooka tank around here. Tubby and in charge. I know where you live and it's not far from me. Just give me a price and maybe I could come over and bring Hershey for a little get to know you date and talk to you about Bailey a little. Just make sure I know everything. I am so excited and want you to know there will be a lot of love waiting for your baby!

Re: Orlando Piggy Needs Home!!

Hey that sounds great! That's what I want to make sure, that he gets a good home where he is going to be loved and happy. He is only about 1 1/2years old now so he's still very young! He is the submissive pig, at least he was with my other pig. Sometimes he will stand up for himself, but for the most part he just gives in and runs away. I had him with two different pigs and it all just depends on the pig I guess. He can be a scardy cat, but once you get him into your lap he is right at home. I think that would be great if we could have a play date for the two of them!! I intern on Tuesdays and Thursdays but besides that any day would be fine with me! Just let me know when you would like to come. You could decide what things you want and depending on what your going to take I think it will be around $150-$175. That would include whatever of the following that you want: the cage, fleece, bowls, water bottles, oxbow cavy cuisine, sofa, zip ties, carrying cages, toys, etc.

Re: Orlando Piggy Needs Home!!

If the price is too steep for you I'm willing to work with you to make it lower. I really need to find a home for him so just let me know what you can afford and I'll see what I can do. Being a fellow college student, I know how that is. Just let me know! )

Re: Orlando Piggy Needs Home!!

Hey,

If we can work out the price a little lower that would be great. I don't want to steal from you, but I don't have money falling out of my pockets. Wednesday and Saturday are my days off this week, if one of those would work for me to come over with Hershey. I have a car, so I will be trying to figure out how to get the cage home. If i have to take it apart, maybe you can help me in writing like instructions or a diagram for when i have to put it back together . Not the best architect here. Other than all that, everything sounds fine. I can't wait to meet Bailey!
