| Re: Looking for a buddy for my new baby in the Northwestern Washington area! Plus, Greener grasses pig rescue in seattle--they have tons of pigs (babies too). There is also foggycreek cavy rescue, and cavy companions. Plus, from time to time, rabbit haven in gig harbor will have a cavy or two for adoption. Check it out! They are all online @ petfinder.com. |

She lives in Tacoma and has babies http://cavycages.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8388 Also, right now, they have three baby g-pigs (brown and white) at the Tacoma Humane Society. You can find contact info to them on petfinder or in the phone book. I have no idea what sex they are. Hope that helps. :0) |

| Re: Looking for a buddy for my new baby in the Northwestern Washington area! Why the hurry? Why do you have to have another pig right now? This instant? A pet is a life long comitment, not for instant gradification. I read the other thread. You trying to breed pigs? Why adopt them, just to creat more? Did you ever stop to think abou the babies? What if they are all male? You going to build another CC cage and keep them all? I got stuck (glad now, we love her!) with a pig that was breed. Now other people are responsible for taking care of what that other person saw as "a breeding experiment." I do not appreciate breeders. I will never give one of my babies to a breeder. Quote:

| Re: Looking for a buddy for my new baby in the Northwestern Washington area! misspigglie, please do not try to turn everyone against me. Had you read THIS thread I clearly said that if it was a male, it must be neutered. Therefore, I was NOT planning on breeding these. At the time I made that original thread, I was planning on breeding but now I am not. Again, had you read what I said you would know that. |

| Re: Looking for a buddy for my new baby in the Northwestern Washington area! Oh and funnygpigs, we do not need the piggys this instant. However, I want to get my piggy a buddy as soon as we can because we do not want her to be lonely. If I'm correct, you would not be able to give the pigs to us until the beginning of October. The problem with this is that my piggy has been without a buddy since we got her, which was roughly two months ago. |

| Re: Looking for a buddy for my new baby in the Northwestern Washington area! Actually, the first week of Sept (close to it). I am glad to hear that you are not going to breed! I just think about all the problems those poor animals suffer from it. My sweetpea is soooo cute and sweet. I would hate for her to die due to complications unfairly brought on her. That is all. Did you check out the Tacoma HUmane Society? They have G-pigs all the time. Babies and adults. The Seattle shelter has some texel boys (you would need to neuter), a grey and white male, a brown male. Females are a little more hard to come by in our state. Greenergrasses in seattle has a female (orange and white one). Hope that helps. I will post some links in a minute. :0) |

| Re: Looking for a buddy for my new baby in the Northwestern Washington area! This is one of the pm she sent me---- I am looking to try my hand at breeding, and I don't just want to buy them at Petco. I have done extremely extensive research on it and I think I am ready. |

| Re: Looking for a buddy for my new baby in the Northwestern Washington area! The second pm she sent me, thanks I understand and respect that. However, what I do not respect is how a most of the shelters charge an unreasonable amount for the gp's. From the research I have done, I have found an average amount of about $45. I understand that this cost can be from veterinary services such as neutering/spaying, but for the average person it doesn't really make sense to buy a $45 2yr. + old guinea pig as apposed to a $30 baby from Petco. I understand that there are a lot of gp's in shelters these days, and because of that I have already planned out that I will either find a good owner or I'll keep them myself. I personally wouldn't give a piggie to someone who thought that a 2+ year old piggie wasn't worth the adoption price, not to mention the fact that she started out wanting to breed, I'm not willing to risk it, thanks, but no thanks. |

| Re: Looking for a buddy for my new baby in the Northwestern Washington area! Misspigglie, I must side with sheep on this one. THIS thread does say if it is a male it must be neutered. I don't think she will be breeding anything with that. It appears she has changed her mind. What is the point of pointing out something that is almost 5 months old. |
