Rescue in Louisiana?

Hi,

I have done several searches online and looked on petfinder and haven't found any rescues or pigs for adoption in Louisiana. I live in Lake Charles, which is in the Southwest corner of the state. If anyone knows of a rescue around here please let me know. Voodoo, I know you live in New Orleans...do you do rescues?

I don't have any rescue pigs looking for homes right now but I can cerainly try to help you.

Unfortunatly the last GP rescue in the N'awlins area closed some time ago due to the owner's life threatening illness. She is better now but didn't start the rescue back uo.

Here is a thread from another person looking for a pig in LA. I found her a neutered male being fostered at West Esplanade Animal Hospital with Dr. Gregory Rich. The clinic may have another as they often foster. There are Phone #s and ideas in the post. Jefferson Feed sometimes has GPs for adoption though the Jefferson ASPCA...it's all in the thread.

I do have an aquaintance with a very elderly male GP that she is thinking of rehoming..but he is really old and could go at any time.

There is a rabbit rescue there that sometimes has piggies.

Have you checked www.petharbor.com or local shelters? Some are not listed on petfinder or do not advertise their piggies. Or try craigs list or other classifieds ads.
