Wanting to adopt in Richmond, VA

In the next couple of months, I want to adopt another GP. Unfortunately, I'm having an extremely hard time finding anywhere to adopt in the Richmond, VA area. Every time I check various lists, it seems that all of the adoptable cavies in VA are in the DC Metro area or near the beach. If anyone knows of any places/people who adopt piggies, please forward any email addresses, websites, or phone numbers. Currently, I'm looking for another male, but once I have Percy fixed, I'd consider a female as well.

Have you tried a pet search on Pet finder. Here is a link of avaliable gps in your area or close to you: http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi

Also here is a gp rescue in Springfield, VA 22151 Not sure where that is to you but that website is: http://www.mgpr.org/ This one will probally be better for you since you will be adopting in a month or so.

I've checked all of those and they're 2-3 hours away at best, but they are definitely still in the running. Once I get the new bigger cage built (C&C 2X4 w/ possibly a 2X2 upper deck), I'll investigate more. In the meantime, if anyone is around my area and has anybody needing a good home, please let me know. I can build faster if need be.
