If I can adopt a baby, how many weeks old should it be to adopt. She will live with the one yr. old females after quarantine. And, if the baby is vet checked before I bring her home, does it still need the 3 week quarantine? I will not take it unless my vet assures me it is a female. |

Yes it still needs a quarintine unless you get her from a reputable source (a really knowledgable rescue). Good idea to get her vet checked though they are harder to sex at that age. Any time after 21 days babies can be removed from the mother. |

With sows, age doesn't really matter as it does with boars. Most sows of any age will get along. And yes, you still need quarantine because it's not just for the new pig coming into your home but for existing pigs as well. |
