I hate to break it to you but it took me about 30 seconds to find the exact Petfinder listing of the pig you're talking about from the information you've posted. If your parents don't want you posting things which give away the general location of where you live, you're going to have to do a lot better job than you are doing.

You'd be better off feeding and cleaning the cage of the pigs you have than surfing the 'net or Craigslist looking for more.

The food, cage, etc., is what's really important, and it seems that they aren't terribly willing to accommodate on those things - ie, it's taken them nearly a year to build your pigs an appropriately sized cage, they/you are still feeding them crappy food, etc. You've openly stated that you have a hard time remembering to feed your pigs veggies - sometimes for weeks - as well as many other things that indicate you probably shouldn't have the animals you have, let alone take in more.

Beyond these things, it seems to me that your parents are less than willing to get your pigs to the vet should they need to go:

Quote:
The drive is pretty far for us as in the vet. We don't take my pigs to the vet often but I would take the new pig to the vet if they gave me a free vet visit.
Pigs, like all animals, need vet care when THEY need it, not when you have a voucher for a free visit. Since this would fall into your parents' area of responsibility, you need to make sure they know that these animals are very delicate and they often require veterinary care as much, if not more, than a dog or cat. And often, because guinea pigs fall into the category of "exotics," that means they need to see a vet that specializes in their care, and that is often more expensive than it would be for a "regular" dog or cat.

I understand your desire to take in more, but until you and your parents are in agreement and have a full understanding on/of what's really needed to care for these creatures, you should put that desire on the back burner.

Actually, why would you adopt a 3rd if your newly built cage can only accommodate two?

Re: My shelter(s) are recieving Guinea Pigs like crazy! Want to adopt!

I agree, I have room for probably 5-6 pigs, but I refuse to take on more responsibility than I can handle, I am more devoted to taking care of the ones I do own, than taking in more just because they are "cute" and "need a home". We can only do what is in our resources to "help" the guinea's who are in need of rescue.

Those who are able financially, and have the time to devote to many pigs, I commend them, as they are working hard to give their pigs a great home and exemplary care!

And your cage, as it shows is only a 2 X 3, which isn't even the recommended space for 2 pigs, much less 3.

Re: My shelter(s) are recieving Guinea Pigs like crazy! Want to adopt!

I saw the ad as well. Just like Blackarrow, it didn't take me very long to find it. The shelter site states that you must be 18 to adopt. It should be your parents responsibility to decide if more pets come into the household, not yours. They are the ones that should be ultimately responsible for the care and well being of any pets in your home. From things you have stated here on this thread and things you said in the past on other threads, they don't seem too willing to provide high quality food or possibly be willing to provide vet care if needed. Vet care is not free, in fact, it can become quite expensive at times because they need exotics vets and not your run of the mill dog/cat vet. What happens if one of your girls ends up with a chronic heart condition that needs vet care and medication on a long term basis? Or what happens when one of your pigs ends up with long term tooth problems? Are you and your parents going to let the pig suffer in pain and misery because they won't provide vet care? These possibilities are very real. You never know what will happen in the long run of things.

If you get yet another pig, you will be subjecting it to the same care your others are currently receiving. Thing about them for a moment and not yourself.
