I NEED to adopt a new guinea pig. I've been putting ads out on craigslist, and checking out petfinder but no one in my area seems to have an unwanted pig. I really hope that you guys can help. I live in Portage Indiana, it's in porter county. Close to Valpo and Chesterton.       |

I've found that many of the shelters around here don't put small animals on Petfinder, but it doesn't mean they don't have them. Call. Ask to be put on a list of people to be contacted if someone brings one in. And be patient! You might also ask at a cavy-savvy vet, an unfortunate number of pets get ditched at vets over relatively minor issues. Good luck. |

If all else fails try looking farther out from your area, maybe theres more pigs in the next county? |

did you try putting up flyers around town, maybe if people knew somone was looking for an unwanted pig they would call you, but either way i hope you find your dream pig soon! |

Actually Valpo is just about 35 minutes from where The Critter Corral is located. We've adopted many guinea pigs out in that area. |
